Music and dance appear to have a social bonding effect, which some have theorized is part of their ultimate evolutionary function. Prior research has also found a social bonding effect of synchronized movement, and it is possible that interpersonal synchrony could be considered the “active ingredient” in the social bonding consequences of music or dance activity. Exploring relations between Big Five personality traits and musical emotions embodied in spontaneous dance

We explored the hypothesis that musical emotions are embodied differentially by people according to their personality. Nine hundred and fifty two individuals completed the Big Five personality inventory. A subset of 60 participants were asked to spontaneously move to 30 short musical stimuli while being recorded with a motion-capture system. The musical stimuli were separately rated for perceived emotions. Embodied musical emotions were evaluated as the correlation between features derived from the motion-capture data and the mean ratings of perceived emotions. Exploring agency and entrainment in joint music-making through the reported experiences of students and teachers

This qualitative interview-based study draws on the reported experiences of students and teachers to explore how agency and entrainment resource and constrain each other in joint music-making. The participants were 23 students of Grades 6 and 11 music teachers from different primary schools. The qualitative content analysis of the 11 student pair interviews and 11 one-to-one teacher interviews indicated that experiences of music-related interpersonal entrainment intertwine with different dimensions of agency. Contents and functions of dramatizations in team decision making

This study examines the contents and functions of dramatizations in natural team decision making. Theoretically, the study employs symbolic convergence theory to understand decision making as a complex phenomenon constructed in symbolic communication. Observational meeting data and thematic interview data from an autonomous team in Finland were analyzed. A fantasy theme analysis and an inductive, rhetorical discourse analysis revealed three rhetorical visions and seven functions of dramatizations in the team’s decision making. In the archives of the musicologist and musician Luigi Rognoni, in Palermo University, René Leibowitz's letters and documents are recorded wich give evidence of their intellectual and amicable relationship, emblematic among the European intellectuals born at the beginning of 20th century. Between the documents there is an Italian translation made by Rognoni in 1963 of "Les Espagnol à Venise", a play by Georges Limbour, set to music by Leibowitz in the same year. Rognoni and Leibowitz tried many times to see their work performed at "La Scala" in Milan, and from the papers an interesting description of a cultural climate that they live with a particular involvement emerges.

This article examines the relationship between fiction and reality in the opera according to the approach of Rousseau and Diderot. The ambiguous and contradictory definition of this relationship brought Rousseau to remove the singing from the opera and to invent a new genre, the "mélodrame".
