Master's thesis in Popular music (MUR502) This thesis aims to explore the path to music creation and shed a light on how we may maneuver songwriting and music production in the digital age. As a songwriter in 2020, my work varies from being in the same physical room using digital communication with collaborators from different cultures and sometimes even without ever meeting face to face with the person I'm making music with. Forfatteren oppfatter at det oppstår en tvetydighet mellom sjangerne på grunn av like musikalske utgangspunkt og estetiske valg som skaper sterke fellestrekk mellom dem.
