This commentary discusses the socio-cultural context of farming and proposes ways to break related lock-ins in the context of sustainability transition research. To be able to change farming practices and design policies to promote the changes, it is essential to understand what actually needs to change. Do we need to change the ways farmers think, the ways that food markets operate, the requirements of plant varieties or the requirements related to protecting water quality? Building on Ilse van Liempt’s (2023) lecture, this commentary addresses the connection and shift between forced displacement and local emplacement by addressing what becoming part of the city means for racialized immigrants. By bringing forward the notion of racialization I hope to contribute to a growing body of literature discussing how malleable and productive the concept of race – albeit erased and relegated to the past – keeps on shaping conversations about and across Europe. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on selvittää millainen seksuaaliterveystietämys yläkouluikäisillä maahanmuuttajanuorilla on. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan iän, sukupuolen, luokka-asteen, maassaoloajan ja kouluvuosien yhteyttä seksuaaliterveystietoihin. Tutkimuksessa selvitetään myös millaista seksuaaliterveystietoa maahanmuuttajanuoret kokevat tarvitsevansa ja miten tämä on suhteessa heidän menestykseensä tietokysymyksissä. Lisäksi selvitetään maahanmuuttajanuorten kokemuksia koulun seksuaaliopetuksesta. Development of the professional competences and work practices are required when promoting successful immigrant integration in a constantly diversifying society. One work method applied in this field is multi-professional collaboration. Cooperation between the authorities at the local level reduces the overlap between services and brings together expertise and resources, resulting in not only added value but also more proactive and less costly service. Thus, collaboration can involve actors from various sectors, like NGOs or ethnic minority communities. Disentangling conditional effects of multiple regime shifts on Atlantic cod productivity

AbstractRegime shifts are increasingly prevalent in the ecological literature. However, definitions vary, and many detection methods are subjective. Here, we employ an operationally objective means of identifying regime shifts, using a Bayesian online change-point detection algorithm able to simultaneously identify shifts in the mean and(or) variance of time series data. We detected multiple regime shifts in long-term (59-154 years) patterns of coastal Norwegian Atlantic cod (>70% decline) and putative drivers of cod productivity: North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO); sea-surface temperature; zooplankton abundance; fishing mortality (F).
