University completion among children of immigrants in seven western countries

International audience; We use probit analysis of national datasets in the United States, Canada, England and Wales, Netherlands, Belgium, and France to examine gross university completion by children of immigrants relative to native majorities and completion net of social origins. This allows us to examine the extent to which children of immigrants and natives face penalties or benefits associated with their ethnic origin in their host countries. Abstract In copolymerization of ethylene (E) with tri-alkenyl-silsesquioxanes (POSS-6-3 and POSS-10-3) were used bis(phenoxy-imine) titanium, zirconium and vanadium catalysts, as well as salen-type vanadium catalysts. There were obtained copolymers with POSS-R-3 units as side branches of polymer chains. The type of employed bis(phenoxy-imine) titanium, zirconium and vanadium catalysts and salen-type catalyst of vanadium determined the copolymer chain termination reactions, as well as the mechanism of modification of the active species by the POSS-R-3 comonomer. Aprakstīti degradācijas pētījumi, to pieejamās vadlīnijas un veidi – hidrolīze, oksidēšana, termiska apstrāde un fotolīze. Darbā ir apkopota informācija par augsti efektīvās šķidrumu hromatogrāfijas (AEŠH) metodes validāciju. Darba eksperimentālajā daļā tika veikta Bikarfen 50 mg tablešu, Bikarfen 50 mg tablešu placebo un sehifenadīna hidrohlorīda degradācija ar skābi, bāzi un ūdeņraža peroksīdu. Investigation of data encryption impact on broadcasting visible light communications

Este trabajo investiga el impacto de la encriptación y desencriptación de datos en un sistema de comunicaciones de luz visible (VLC) de difusión en interiores incrustado en la capa física. Se ha implementado el cifrado RSA para proporcionar una transmisión de datos segura en la capa física. El artículo muestra el rendimiento de la tasa de error de bits (BER) para los sistemas VLC seguros y no seguros (8 y 12 bits) para velocidades de datos de 2 y 12 Mbps. Para una BER de 10e-4 mostramos que hay penalizaciones de potencia de 2-4 dB con las VLC seguras. Intermediate valencies of vanadium cations appearing during oxidation of vanadium–iron spinels

Abstract The oxidation state of vanadium cations in nanosized vanadium–iron spinels at stoichiometry and at oxidative nonstoichiometry has been investigated by associating X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis (DSC), infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies. It has been established that, during oxidation, the V3+ cations present several intermediate valencies before to realize the final oxidation state +5. A comparison was made with the oxidation of V2O3.
"Homo Sacer" figūra Nadīnes Gordimeras romānā "Pikaps" un Kiranas Desaji romānā "Mantotā nolemtība"

Dotais maģistra darbs atspoguļo analītisku imigranta tēla lasījumu, kā Džordžo Agambena koncepcijas "homo sacer" iemiesojumu, mūsdienu postkoloniālajā literatūrā. Šajā darbā tika analizēti divi romāni: Nadīnes Gordimeras “Pikaps” (2001) un Kiranas Desaji “Mantotā nolemtība” (2007). Darbā tika pielietota Džordžo Agambena (1998) politiskā teorija. Pētījums tika veikts ar mērķi interpretēt "homo sacer" figūras attēlojumu izvēlētajos romānos, izmantojot salīdzinošo literāro pieeju. Romānu interpretatīvo lasījumu manāmi pastiprināja tādi postkoloniālo literāro studiju metožu veidi kā starpdisciplinaritāte un kontekstualitāte.
