Pētījumā, izmantojot triangulācijas pieeju, akmeņu folklora salīdzināta ar arheoloģisko materiālu, rakstiskajos avotos rodamo informāciju un ikonogrāfisko materiālu, identificējot vairākas kultakmeņu funkcijas, kas var pārklāties laikā. Ziedošana uzskatāma par sekundāru funkciju kultakmeņiem, kuru primārā funkcija saistīta ar apbedīšanas rituāliem vai depozītu sargāšanu. Savukārt krustakmeņiem, kuru primārā funkcija saistīta ar kristīgās telpas robežu iezīmēšanu ainavā, sekundārā funkcija saistīta ar upurēšanu. Towards sensory Langmuir monolayers consisting of macrocyclic pentaaminoanthraquinone

A pentaazamacrocycle incorporating an intracyclic anthraquinone fragment (PENTAQ) was synthesized with the aim of forming metal-responsive Langmuir monolayers. PENTAQ allows a good discrimination by naked eye of copper ions in methanol–water solutions (50 : 50 v/v). Spectrophotometric investigations of the protonation and Cu2+ binding properties of PENTAQ were undertaken in order to gain a deeper insight into the pH-dependent speciation as well as the color changing process. PENTAQ monolayers at air/water and air/methanol–water interfaces were prepared according to the Langmuir procedure. Artikkelimme kasittelee korpuspohjaisia oppijansanakirjoja. Sahkoisiin aineistoihin ja kielenkaytosta hankittuun tutkimukselliseen tietoon perustuvat sanakirjat ovat edelleen harvinaisia, ja kielenoppijoille niita on tarjolla hyvin vahan. Suomesta tallaisia sanakirjoja ei ole ollut lainkaan. Esittelemme yleisesti oppijoille suunnattujen sahkoisten sanakirjojen vaatimuksia ja tarkemmin uuden tekeilla olevan ConLexis-verkkosanakirjan suunnittelutyota, tavoitteita ja sisaltoa. It has been proposed that two distinct signals are required for the triggering of the precursors of antibody-forming bone marrow-derived cells (B cells): (a) the binding of antigen or of a mitogen to the corresponding receptor sites on B-cell membranes and (b) the interaction of activated C3 with the C3 receptor of B lymphocytes. There is growing evidence that B-cell mitogens and T (thymus-derived cell)-independent antigens are capable of activating the alternate pathway of the complement system (bypass). The paper discusses an iconographic type recorded on a series of pinakes from the Mannella sanctuary at Locri Epizephyrii portraying two young horsemen (one has a lyra, the other a kantharos) in front of a female figure. This is thought to be the variant of a more common type representing the Spartan Dioskouroi with a shield and phiale. The attributes of the horsemen (kantharos and lyra), unusual for the Tyndaridai, have been interpreted as a reference to the educational value of music and symposia relating to the male element within the context of wedding rituals held in the sanctuary. Optimization of the preprocessing steps of MEG measurement data in Meggie application

Tutkielma optimoi MEG (magnetoenkefalografia) mittausaineiston esikäsittelyyn, analysointiin ja visualisointiin kehitetyn Meggie-käyttöliittymän esikäsittelyvaiheita pääasiassa lisäämällä mahdollisuuden rinnakkaislaskentaan. Optimointi toimi tutkielman käytännön osuutena ja sen tukena oli kattava lista vaatimuksia. Optimoinnissa suurin osa työstä meni vanhan koodin refaktorointiin, mutta myös käyttöliittymäkomponentteihin tuli pieniä muutoksia ja itse ohjelmaan muutama uusi toiminnallisuus. Teoreettisessa osuudessa keskitytään Meggien nykyiseen tilaan tutkimalla sen arkkitehtuuria, minkä lisäksi tarkastellaan kehitysvaiheita vaatimuslistan pohjalta sekä tuodaan esiin muistinhallinnan ongelm…
