This article analyses the national discourse of Spanish socialism during the Second Republic and seeks to emphasise the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party’s identification with a Spanish national identity. Furthermore, by considering the case of the Valencian Region (País Valenciano), it points to ways in which that identity was expressed, showing the role of the local and regional spheres in the socialist interpretation of national identity. At least 50 per cent of the population of Jordan is of Palestinian origin. Some 20 per cent of the registered refugees live in ten internationally organized camps, and another 20 per cent in four locally organized camps and numerous informal camps. The camps organized by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) play a major role in keeping Palestinian identity alive. For a long time, the European Union (EU) has been described by many scholars and policymakers as a civilian and a normative power. This article argues that these concepts do not accurately capture the foreign policy behaviour of the EU as prescribed in the European Union Global Strategy (EUGS). It first situates EU identity and role played in international relations within role strain theory. Then, it notes that the EU has difficulties fulfilling duties connected with its international identity and role. National Identity and the Problem of "Polish" and "Silesia" in the Work of Jan Goczoł
 The article presents the issues of Polishness and Silesianness in the national consciousness of Jan Goczoł, who is known as a poet with a great deal of authorship, prose writer, columnist, and also an Opolian Silesia cultural activist. The article describes the life path of the poet, his family background, and the crystallisation of national consciousness in his writing. The poetry of the defender of the native tradition is emotionally marked with Silesian motifs and refers to the culture of many generations of Silesians.
