A Conceptual Map of “Nutrition”: Content Analysis of Uses in Romanian Mass Media and Scientific Articles Between 2014 and 2017

The National Institute of Statistics revealed that in Romania, in 2014, 46.4% of the population over 18 years were overweight and 9.3% were obese. Moreover, there is no lowering of these rates insight. The current corporeal state is put on the lifestyle that influences eating habits and, in consequence, nutrition (nutriție). In this chapter, we provide a first glimpse of the place that nutrition has in Romania by a conceptual map made based on the data gathered through content analysis. The analysis included all the Romanian articles from media and scientific journals, published between 2014 and 2017.
Rapid neural encoding of the contrast between native and nonnative speech in the alpha band

AbstractMore than half of the world’s population is multilingual, yet it is not known how the human brain encodes the perception of native vs. nonnative speech. To find out, we asked German native speakers to detect the onset of native and nonnative (English and Turkish) vowels in a roving standard stimulation. Using EEG, we show that nonnativeness is robustly registered by an increase in phase coherence in the alpha band (8-12 Hz), beginning as early as ∼100 ms after stimulus onset and lasting more than 200 ms. Previous research in extinction indicates no difference in US expectancies for aversive and non-aversive unconditioned stimuli (USs). In this study, we bridged these topics by examining how concurrent perceptual and conceptual cues influence conditioned generalisation of generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) patients by using non-aversive USs. The study included two consecutive phases: acquisition and generalisation. In this work, partial information decomposition (PID) was applied to the time series of heart rate and EEG amplitude variability to investigate the dynamical interactions in brain-heart coupling before and after epileptic seizures. From ECG and EEG signals collected on 23 children suffering from focal epilepsy, the RR intervals and the EEG variance at ipsilateral and contralateral temporal electrodes were computed in four different time windows before and after the seizures. Pupils’ mathematical self-concept in the beginning of the sixth grade

The article shows the mathematical self-concept of the sixth grade pupils (n=57) in relation to their mathematical skills in school. Mathematical skills were measured with the help of a survey of the command of the decimal system and on the basis of the report grades in mathematics. The pupils’ mathematical self-concept was surveyed in the beginning of the sixth grade with the interviews and a questionnaire using the Likert-scale. Rather than having a consistent food policy, countries often tend to regulate food from the margins of other policy domains such as agricultural, environmental, welfare or educational policies. Regulatory interventions perceive food as an instrument rather than a domain with its own specific set of policy issues and view food provision as an activity to achieve certain economic, social and environmental objectives.
