Immunological Markers for PML Prediction in MS Patients Treated with Natalizumab

International audience; Natalizumab (NTZ), a monoclonal antibody recognizing the alpha4 integrin chain, has been approved for the treatment of active multiple sclerosis, but expose to the onset of a rare side effect, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML). Estimating the individual risk of PML in NTZ-treated patients is a major challenge, and therapeutic strategies are mainly guided by the overall PML risk assessed by identified risk factors: JC virus (JCV) seropositivity, treatment duration (with peak incidence after 24 months), and the previous use of immunosuppressive therapies. Evaluation of a Chemistry Concept Inventory for general chemistry students at Finnish university

A chemistry concept inventory (Chemical Concept Inventory 3.0/CCI 3.0), previously developed for use
 in Norwegian universities, was tested and evaluated for use in a Finnish university setting. The test,
 designed to evaluate student knowledge and learning of chemistry concepts, was administered as both
 pre- and posttest in first year general chemistry courses at the University of Jyväskylä. The results were
 evaluated using different statistical tests, focusing both on individual item analysis and the entire test.

Des de la perspectiva psicolingüística, diversos treballs s’han preguntat si el gènere es representa a nivell conceptual. En el marc de les noves interpretacions de la hipòtesi del relativisme lingüístic, s’ha proposat que les diferències de gènere (masculí o femení) influencien la conceptualització.
