Abstract Archaeological shell middens are particularly important for reconstructing prehistoric human subsistence strategies. However, very little is known about shellfish processing, especially when related to the use of fire for dietary and disposal purposes. To shed light on prehistoric food processing techniques, an experimental study was undertaken on modern gastropod shells (Phorcus lineatus). Aim of this work is the development of an automatic segmentation method of Biological Target Volume (BTV) in patients with cervical cancer. Materials and methods: Random walks (RW) is a graph-based method that represents a DICOM (Digital Imaging and COmmunications in Medicine) image as a graph. Two retrograde, amphibolite facies shear zones were studied to explore the relationship between retrograde mineral reactions, volume strain, fluid flow, mylonitization, and coaxial versus noncoaxial deformation. The two shear zones are the contractional Mafwewu Hills shear zone and the transcurrently displacing Mkamasa River shear zone of northern Malawi. In general, shear-zone formation is characterized by the breakdown of feldspar and biotite and the formation of sillimanite, quartz, and water. Silica, alkali, and alkali earth elements were mobile. In this paper, we develop a new approach based on nonlinear filtering scheme (NLFS) on cardiac signal to evaluate a robust single-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) delineation system and waves localization method based on nonlinear filtering approach. This system is built in two phases, in the first phase, we proposed a mathematical model for detecting ECG features like QRS complex peak, P and T-waves onsets and ends fromnoise free of synthetic ECG signal.
