Klīnicista ikdienā par deguna cikla aktualitāti var runāt, kad jāizšķiras par pacienta konservatīvu terapiju vai ķirurģisku ārstēšanu. Momentānie deguna gaisa plūsmas mērījumi var neatklāt to, kā pacients jūtas ilgākā laika periodā. Tāpēc ir svarīgi atpazīt deguna ciklu kā fizioloģisku parādību un spēt diferencēt to no patoloģiskas obstrukcijas. Nepārtrauktas nazālās plūsmas mērīšanas metode ir šobrīd vislabākā iespēja, lai nosacīti ērti novērotu deguna cikla reciprokās pārvērtības ilgākā laika periodā nekā to piedāvā alternatīvas. Capillary electrophoresis (CE) was coupled to ICPMS in order to combine the good performance of this separation technique with the high sensitivity of the ICPMS for the analysis of plutonium and neptunium oxidation states. The combination of a fused-silica capillary with a MicroMist AR 30-I-FM02 nebulizer and a Cinnabar small-volume cyclonic spray chamber yielded the best separation results. With this setup, it was possible to separate a model element mixture containing neptunium (NpO2(+)), uranium (UO2(2+)), lanthanum (La3+), and thorium (Th4+) in 1 M acetic acid. Resonance ionization mass spectroscopic (RIMS) measurements for trace analysis and spectroscopy of 237Np, the ecologically most important isotope of neptunium, are described. The chemical procedure for the separation of neptunium from aqueous samples as well as the preparation of filaments for RIMS are outlined. Several two- and three-step excitation schemes have been investigated in order to find suitable conditions for the sensitive detection of 237Np. Using a three-step, three-color excitation and ionization scheme an overall detection efficiency of 3×10−8 was obtained, resulting in a detection limit of 4×108 atoms (160 fg) of 237Np. Oxidation of adrenaline and noradrenaline by solved molecular oxygen in a FIA assembly.

A simple and effective procedure is proposed for the study and simultaneous determination of adrenaline and noradrenaline. The fluorimetric determination of both substances is performed in a flow injection assembly and by oxidation of both drugs with the solved molecular oxygen. The influence of different parameters is empirically studied and the interpretation of the reaction mechanism is also added. The determination of adrenaline is monitored at 450 nm and the outputs at 520 nm correspond to the adrenaline and noradrenaline global amount; for both lectures lambda(exc) 329 nm. Tēma ir aktuāla, jo izstrāddarbināšanas prakšu pielietošanas izplatība kļūst aizvien straujāka, un līdz ar šo izaugsmi kļūst pieejami ne tikai jauni risinājumi, bet arī turpina attīstīties jau esošie rīki. Dimensions of executive functioning: Evidence from children

This study investigated dimensions of executive functioning in 8- to 13-year-old children. Three tasks from the Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery (CANTAB), two tasks from the NEPSY battery and some additional executive function (EF) tests were administered to 108 children. In line with earlier work, modest correlations among EF measures were obtained (r < .4). Both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses yielded three interrelated factors, which resembled those obtained by Miyake et al.
