Mechanisms involved in the transmission of epigenetic deregulation : analyses of transmission in human sperm

The notion that environmental exposure can be memorized and promote epimutation (defined as defects on DNA methylation) raises the question of possible epigenetic transgenerational transmission in humans. To address whether an epimutation could be transmitted in humans, we pursued two axes. First, the evaluation of intergenerational transmission in the family of a Silver-Russell patient has shown, for the first time, the efficiency of epigenetic reprogramming in humans, specifically on imprinted regions. Purpose To examine the heritability of intraocular pressure (IOP) among older women not diagnosed as having glaucoma. Design Cross-sectional twin study. Participants 94 monozygotic (MZ) and 96 dizygotic (DZ) female twin pairs aged 63–76 years and not diagnosed as having glaucoma. Methods Intraocular pressure was measured using a noncontact tonometer. The aim of this article is to introduce Neuvola, a childrearing support service in Finland, and to discuss issues related to Japanʼs User Support Project for Children and Childcare Support System. The authors visited and sat in on Neuvola sessions for three clients, and they conducted interviews with a client between October 4 and 8, 2015. Clients and Neuvola nurses were relaxed, and clients initiated the topics discussed during the visit. There was rapport between clients and Neuvola nurses, and clients seemed to be at ease in receiving the service. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli haastatteluaineiston pohjalta tarkastella namibialaista kiintymyssuhdetodellisuutta. Tutkimuksessa pyrittiin tarkastelemaan länsimaisista käytännöistä eroavien namibialaisten lastenhoitotapojen merkitystä kiintymyssuhteen laatuun. Samoin pyrittiin ottamaan huomioon kansallisten ja yksilötason traumojen vaikutus kiintymyssuhteeseen.
