In vivo triceps surae and quadriceps femoris muscle function in a squat jump and counter movement jump
2000
An optic fibre method was used to measure in humans in vivo Achilles (ATF) and patellar tendon forces (PTF) during submaximal squat jumps (SJ) and counter movement jumps (CMJ). Normal two-legged jumps on a force plate and one-legged jumps on a sledge apparatus were made by four volunteers. Kinetics, kinematics, and muscle activity from seven muscles were recorded. The loading patterns of the tendomuscular system differed among the jumping conditions, but were similar when the jumping height was varied. Peak PTF were greater than ATF in each condition. In contrast to earlier simulation studies it was observed that tendomuscular force could continue to increase during the shortening of muscle…
Comparison of Post-Weld Treatment of High-Strength Steel Welded Joints in Medium Cycle Fatigue
2010
This paper presents a comparison of three post-weld treatments for fatigue life improvement of welded joints. The objective is to determine the most suitable post-weld treatment for implementation in mass production of certain crane components manufactured from very high-strength steel. The processes investigated are: burr grinding, TIG dressing and ultrasonic impact treatment. The focus of this investigation is on the so-called medium cycle area, i.e. 10 000-500 000 cycles and very high stress ranges. In this area of fatigue design, the use of very high strength steel becomes necessary, since the stress range can exceed the yield-strength of ordinary structural steel, especially when consi…
Rhéologie et déformation du verre dans des conditions extrêmes
2018
Hardness measurements performed at room temperature have proven that glass can flow under elevated pressure. During industrial glass production processes, the actual distribution of stress components in the glass during scribing remains, to date, poorly quantified, and thus continues to be challenging to model numerically. To better quantify the viscous contribution to the rheology of glass, the effect of pressure on the viscosity and structural relaxation of glass, needs to be quantified experimentally by in situ deformation measurements. In this thesis, I performed experiments and models to study: (i) the volumetric relaxation of glass after high-pressure treatment above the glass transiti…

Processus attentionnels et apprentissage moteur
2012
FROM THE DESCRIPTIVE GEOMETRY TO THE INFORMATICS LANGUAGE.
2010
This study is centred in the environment of the research into solutions of the problems of graphic representation, expressing theoretical considerations which allow the carrying out of geometric-descriptive procedures decoded in informatics language, for implementing CAD commands. The solution of these problems requires a reliable command of stereometry and descriptive geometry and it can extend remarkably the level of external geometric competences. The implementation of the means of ICT has brought a higher effectiveness of graphing mapping processes. In the informatics field, the advent of software dedicated to computerized representation has increased the possibilities of investigation …
PROPAGATING INTERFACES IN A TWO-LAYER BISTABLE NEURAL NETWORK
2006
The dynamics of propagating interfaces in a bistable neural network is investigated. We consider the network composed of two coupled 1D lattices and assume that they interact in a local spatial point (pin contact). The network unit is modeled by the FitzHugh–Nagumo-like system in a bistable oscillator mode. The interfaces describe the transition of the network units from the rest (unexcited) state to the excited state where each unit exhibits periodic sequences of excitation pulses or action potentials. We show how the localized inter-layer interaction provides an "excitatory" or "inhibitory" action to the oscillatory activity. In particular, we describe the interface propagation failure a…
Pinning of a kink in a nonlinear diffusive medium with a geometrical bifurcation: Theory and experiments
2004
International audience; We study the dynamics of a kink propagating in a Nagumo chain presenting a geometrical bifurcation. In the case of weak couplings, we define analytically and numerically the coupling conditions leading to the pinning of the kink at the bifurcation site. Moreover, real experiments using a nonlinear electrical lattice confirm the theoretical and numerical predictions.

Measurements of Low-Energy Protons using a Silicon Detector for Application to SEE Testing
2021
A silicon detector with a fast electronics chain is used for the dosimetry of protons in the range 0.5-5 MeV at the Centro Nacional de Aceleradores (CNA) 3 MV Tandem laboratory in Seville, Spain. In this configuration, measurements can be performed in pulsed mode, using a digitizer to record event-by-event proton energy depositions. The distributions of deposited energy were obtained thanks to a calibration with an alpha source. Measurements of flux and deposited energy are used to enable single event effect (SEE) testing on selected static random access memories (SRAMs).
