Grimstaddialekten i utvikling : En undersøkelse av enkelte talespråklige trekk i grimstaddialekten

2020

Master's thesis in Advanced teacher education level 8-13 (NO505) In this thesis I have examined the use of dialect in nine people of three different generations from Grimstad city centre. I selected six linguistic variables that I wanted to examine more closely; three phonological variables (r-sound, lenis plosivesand retroflex) and three morphological variables (personal pronoun 1st person singular, verb ending in present tense and adverbs of negation). The basis for this study is my observation of variations in the use of these traits, especially between different generations. Consequently, I have correlated the six linguistic variables with the social variable generation. In order to com…

2020

Master's thesis in Advanced teacher education level 8-13 (NO505) In this thesis, I have examined fathers and fatherhood in Sigrid Undset’s trilogy Kristin Lavransdatter (1920-22). The aim of the study has been to make an examination of the extent of the themes of fatherhood in the trilogy. The most central aspect in the survey is the literary analyses of the various fathers. The analytical work is based upon a wide sample of fathers. In addition, the thesis includes four parameters of care and consideration by which the fathers have been analysed. Based on these parameters, the concepts of care and consideration can be operationalized in the literary analyses. This also makes it possible to…

Master's thesis in Advanced teacher education level 8-13 (NO505) The topics for this thesis are gender and power. I willdo a literary analysis of Vigdis Hjorths Hjulskift and Therese Bohmans Aftonland. Through the power critical angle, I wish to investigate the distribution of power, capital and class differences, while the feminist reading allows me to also focus on differences between genders. 2021

Master´s thesis in Advanced Teacher Education Background: Idioms can be considered as an interesting, but complex linguistic phenomena, which occurs frequently both in written and spoken language. Idioms can be found in a variety of different texts, such as papers, debates, speaks etc. Despite being frequent in the language, little attention has been paid to idioms in school and in the Norwegian subject in high school. Previous research shows that students have little knowledge of and lack basic understanding of idioms. Never the less, more focus should be paid to high school students’ knowledge of idioms. To gain knowledge of how high school students understand idioms, and what factors tha…

Performativ poesi. Ein studie av identitet og identitetskonflikt i YAHYA HASSAN og YAHYA HASSAN 2

2021

Master´s thesis in Advanced Teacher Education In this master thesis, I have examined the thematisation of identity and identity conflict in the two poetry anthologies YAHYA HASSAN and YAHYA HASSAN 2. Yahya Hassan wrote autobiographical poems, and thus his work became a way to explore his own identity in poetic form. The theoretical basis supporting my literary analysis has been Jon Helt Haarders’concept of performative biographism and sociological identity theory. Through analysing a selection of poems, I have achieved a more in-depth interpretation of how the many voices of the lyrical subject present in the anthologies reveal themselves. The many subject-voices are also in conflict with o…
