This paper analyzes the role played by two dimensions of entrepreneurs’ private social capital in the survival, growth and innovativeness of entrepreneurial service ventures: local size and preferential attachment degree. We build a bi-dimensional measure of social capital based on network models and a methodology to estimate this measure for any group of entrepreneurs. Based on a survey of service entrepreneurs who launched their business in the city of Shanghai, we show that roles played by each dimension are quite different. W artykule przedstawiono problemy edukacji jutra w Polsce i na Ukrainie. Zdefiniowano problemy ukraińskiego systemu edukacyjnego,utrudniające rozwój jednostki i społeczeństwa. Przeanalizowano przyczyny niestosowania właściwego podejścia do edukacji w programach nauczania i podręcznikach. Abstract Grassroots social innovations are citizen-led initiatives that develop bottom-up solutions to societal challenges. Alternative food networks (AFNs) are innovations which propose alternative schemes for distribution and consumption of food—such as community-based agriculture or food cooperatives—which can improve the well-being of participants. Long-Term Educational Sustainability: Educational Innovation in Social Vulnerability Contexts

This paper investigates the behavior of children from low socioeconomic status families and examines the effects of a socioemotional education program on aggression in children. The results of the program are compared according to the children’s gender and age, the family structure, the parents’ educational attainment, and social status. The results show that applying socioemotional education programs reduces children’s aggression and encourages positive development during adolescence. This positive development fosters open, expressive behavior.

Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Sociālais atbalsts daudzbērnu ģimenēm Gulbenes novadā”. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā daudzbērnu ģimeņu pārstāvji izjūt valsts un pašvaldības sniegto sociālo atbalstu, vai tiek izmantoti sniegtie atbalsta pakalpojumi Gulbenes novadā un kā, pēc daudzbērnu ģimeņu domām, uzlabot valsts un pašvaldības sociālo atbalstu. Lai sasniegtu darbā izvirzīto mērķi tika veiktas daļēji strukturētās intervijas ar Gulbenes novadā dzīvojošiem daudzbērnu ģimeņu vecākiem. Pētījumā secināts, ka daudzbērnu ģimenes Gulbenes novadā paļaujas un sagaida atbalstu no valsts un pašvaldības.
