A proposito di Paul. 29 ad ed. - D. 13.6.17.3 (officium, beneficium, commodare)

2016

The article deals with the significance and role of the references to officium and beneficium in D. 13.6.17.3, concerning the commentary of Paulus to the iudicium contrarium commodati. In this text ‘officium’ expresses ethic dutifulness tout court; and the key-point of Paulus’ reasoning consists in underlining the coexistence of an ethical and a juridical dimension within the legal operation of commodare. In the light of the comparison between this and some other texts of the same Paulus (D. 17.1.1.4; 39.4.21; 43.1.2.1), it seems possible to suggest – as trace for a specific, future investigation – a peculiar attention of this jurist for ethical perspectives connected to legal institutions.

Direct objects

2014

The direct objects express the semantic role patient, that is, the participant affected by the transitive situation. In Ancient Greek, the case of the direct object is prototypically the accusative. However, on the basis of a scalar hypothesis of transitivity, the notion of affectedness may be conceived of as a gradual property of the objects. In this perspective, different ways of encoding the transitive objects may be individuated, namely the dative and the genitive, which should be interpreted as less typical instances of the category.

Undergraduate Students’ Acceptance of a Reciprocating One-File System for Endodontic Treatment

2020

Abstract Objectives Reciprocating endodontic one-file systems are a comparatively new method for root canal shaping. Even though the mechanical properties are comparable to modern rotating mechanical systems, data about subjective assessment and application quality are scarce. This study evaluates the reciprocating one-file system in undergraduate education. Materials and Methods A total of 42 undergraduate students without experience regarding reciprocating file systems filled in a questionnaire in four different points in time (t 1–t 4) anonymously. The questionnaire was based on a numerical rating scale ranging from 0 to 10. Statistical Analysis A least significant difference post-hoc an…

The Changing Landscape for Stroke Prevention in AF: Findings From the GLORIA-AF Registry Phase 2

2017

BACKGROUND: GLORIA-AF (Global Registry on Long-Term Oral Antithrombotic Treatment in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation) is a prospective, global registry program describing antithrombotic treatment patterns in patients with newly diagnosed nonvalvular atrial fibrillation at risk of stroke. Phase 2 began when dabigatran, the first non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulant (NOAC), became available.OBJECTIVES: This study sought to describe phase 2 baseline data and compare these with the pre-NOAC era collected during phase 1.METHODS: During phase 2, 15,641 consenting patients were enrolled (November 2011 to December 2014); 15,092 were eligible.
