La leche humana (LH) es el alimento idóneo para los lactantes durante los primeros 6 meses de vida y en su defecto, se recurre a preparados para lactantes (PL). Medicinal plants from the Mediterranean region show great potential in the improvement of health and in the prevention of disease. Epidemiological studies indicate that some of these plants reduce the incidence of inflammatory diseases and cancer by inducing programmed cell death, thus arresting proliferation. These medicinal properties are related to the presence of compounds such as phenolics with antioxidant properties or nonphenolic compounds, including essential oils, terpenoids, or saponins. Se realiza una valoración de los logros alcanzados por la revista RENHyD en estos últimos años, así como por aquellas acciones desarrolladas que han conllevado resultados no satisfactorios. Las lecciones aprendidas, en este recorrido, han ayudado a definir las líneas estratégicas a desarrollar en este próximo año. Estas líneas que se presentan tienen por finalidad incrementar la calidad formal de la revista de acuerdo con los estándares internacionales, lo cual posibilitará la indexación en más bases de datos bibliográficas de ámbito internacional.

Gene expression atlases are crucial for the identification of genes expressed in different tissues at various plant developmental stages. Poly (lactic acid)/D-limonene/ZnO bio-nanocomposites with antimicrobial properties

[EN] Antimicrobial films of poly (lactic acid) (PLA)/D-limonene/zinc oxide (ZnO)-based bio-nanocomposites were prepared via melt compounding and subsequent thermocompression. D-limonene was incorporated at concentrations of 10 or 20 wt%, and ZnO pure nanoparticles and those organically modified with oleic acid (O-ZnO), with an average diameter of 13.5 nm, were included at concentrations of 3, 5, and 8 wt%. The plasticizing effect of D-Limonene was corroborated by a decrease in the glass transition temperature compared to pure PLA.
