Spēles naratīva analīze: “Half Life” franšīze

Pētījuma galvenais mērķis ir atklāt, kā stāstījumu tehnikas pielietotas video spēļu franšīzē Half-Life. Pētījumam izvēlētas četras franšīzes Half-Life un Half-Life 2 spēles. Teorētiskajā daļā tika apskatīts, kā stāstījumu jēdzieni ir pielāgojami video spēļu pētījumam. Izvēlēto video spēļu analīze parādīja, ka stāstījumu izteiksmes līdzekļi un struktūras var tikt pielietotas arī izvēlētajām video spēlēm, dažām no tām stingri neievērojot avotu teorētiskos ierobežojumus. Pētījuma rezultāti nodrošina plašāku video spēļu stāstījumu izpētes iespējas.

The aim of this article is to take a multifaceted approach to an illness as a biocultural phenomenon. Putting emphasis on the enormous potential that lies in narratives of one’s physical and mental condition may lead to breaking the monopoly of natural Sciences in this respect. Understanding "Islandness"

Islandness is a contested concept, not just between disciplines but also cultures, entangled with what islands, island studies, and island identity are understood to be. The purpose of this article is to explore some of these different meanings, without necessarily unifying or reconciling them, with the aim of keeping multiple understandings of islandness in creative tension. We begin by considering islandness as smallness, recognizing that though many entry points into island studies relate to size in some way, what constitutes small is dependent on both context and worldview. In this qualitative study the author examined personal narratives written by 14 Finnish speaking student teachers of Swedish, in order to find out what they tell about their thoughts and feelings concerning their future work as language teachers. The following three themes were in focus: firstly, what university students tell about their reasons for wanting to become teachers in the first place; secondly, what kinds of worries concerning their future work they mention in their narratives; and thirdly, how student teachers could be supported during transition from teacher education to teaching. This paper examines management accounting from the perspective of its most important user: practising managers. We seek to enhance the understanding of the relationship between managerial work and accounting. Ceļojumu literatūra ir informatīva un izklaidējoša, tomēr pētnieki kā Lisle, Tompsons, Azaraija u.c. uzskata to arī par ideoloģiski piesātinātu. Pētījuma mērķis bija noteikt, vai izvēlētajam tekstuālajam materiālam no C. Tompsona ceļojumu memuāra ir ideoloģizēta teksta pazīmes. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kuvailla, millaisia laadullisesti erilaisia merkityksiä liikunta-alan tutkinnon suorittaneet antoivat alan tutkintokoulutukselle urateemaisissa elämänkertomuksissaan. Kertomusten avulla oli mahdollista tavoittaa koulutukselle annetut merkitykset suhteessa uran muotoutumisen monitahoisuuteen. Tutkimukseen osallistui 60 liikuntaneuvoja-, liikunnanohjaaja- (AMK tai YAMK) tai liikuntatieteiden maisteri -tutkinnon vuosina 2004–2015 suorittanutta henkilöä, jotka vastasivat avoimeen kirjoituskutsuun. Hyvinvointipolitiikassa puhutaan yhä enemmän ikääntyneen oikeudesta jäädä asumaan nykyiseen kotiinsa ja saada sinne tarvitsemansa palvelut. Tämä artikkeli tarkastelee narratiivisen analyysin keinoin, miten huolenpidon kokemus jäsentyy äidistään huolehtivien tytärten hoivakertomuksissa yhä vahvemmin kodissa annettavaan epäviralliseen hoivaan tukeutuvassa yhteiskunnassa. The future is uncertain, but what is certain is that we can make sense of the future through our ‘antenarratives’. In this study, I shed light on prospective sensemaking and apply the concept of antenarrative as a framework to identify how strategy practitioners make sense of AI projects. The empirical case organization is a large Finnish financial organization that aims to be a digital leader. The case organization is currently developing and implementing AI in its business operations, a recent and emerging wave in the financial business sector.
