Il tema del contributo riguarda il ruolo del mito nel XX secolo nel pensiero e nell'opera di Karl Kerényi: l'uso politico del mito e la sua manipolazione ideologica. La riflessione è sviluppata attraverso l'esame di un trascurato saggio dello Studioso (Mnemosyne-Lesmosyne), scritto nel 1945 e legato al carteggio con Thomas Mann. The focus of this paper concerns the role of myth and oblivion in the 20th century in the thought of Karl Kerényi: the political use of myth and its ideological manipulation. The reflection is developed through the examination of a neglected essay (Mnemosyne-Lesmosyne), written in 1945 and linked to the correspondence with Thomas Mann.

Il sistema anemonomastico siciliano appare leggibile su due livelli: da un lato i nomi dialettali dei venti ripropongono in larga misura quelli presenti nell’italiano tramontana, maestrale, greco, scirocco, libeccio, dall’altro si rileva un numero impressionante di anemonimi rifatti su un toponimo e, più spesso, sull’etnico corrispondente, se il paese che dà il nome al vento è situato lungo la direzione da cui esso spira. Ciò è particolarmente evidente per i nomi dei venti “freddi”. Per essi, mediante una ricerca su una piccola porzione del territorio siciliano le Madonie , è stato possibile raccogliere almeno due anemonimi di origine toponimica in ciascuno dei centri indagati. Resection of a giant mediastinal leiomyosarcoma

ABSTRACT Primary leiomyosarcomas of the lung are rare tumors. We report a case of 49-year-old female with history of cough, breathless at rest, right sided chest pain. Chest CT showed a huge (16 cm) mediastinal mass located on the right mediastinum encasing the right main pulmonary artery and infiltrating the main right bronchus and pericardium. The tumor was resected with combined pericardiectomy and pnemonectomy via hemiclamshell incision. This surgical access provided an adequate exposure of the chest “blind zones” and it allowed a radical and safe surgical resection of lung, pleura, pericardium and diaphragm. The final diagnosis showed a low grade differentiation leiomyosarcoma.

Predators unintentionally release chemical and other cues into their environment that can be used by prey to assess predator presence. Prey organisms can therefore perform specific antipredator behavior to reduce predation risk, which can strongly shape the outcome of trophic interactions. En septiembre de 1784 el escultor José Esteve Bonet concluía una imagen de Santa Catalina de Siena que fue remitida a la isla de Tenerife semanas después, gracias a la mediación del canónigo de Xátiva Miguel Lobera. De ese destino, el responsable del ajuste, el dinero pagado por ella y las cualidades que mostraba como pieza vestidera hay constancia en un apunte que incluye el diario o Libro de la Verdad, documento de vital importancia a la hora de conocer la actividad de su taller entre 1762 y 1802. Experiments and predictions of the transition of the flow pattern with impeller clearance in stirred tanks

In the present work, the double- to single-loop flow pattern transition in a stirred vessel equipped with a Rushton turbine is investigated by Laser Doppler anemometry (LDA). In particular, the clearance at which such transition occurs is assessed by comparing axial velocity profiles underneath the impeller. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of the same system are carried out, by employing the 'inner-outer' fully predictive computation strategy. The comparison of predicted results with the experimental data collected shows that the transition is well reproduced by simulations. Bakalaura darba pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot dažādu organizāciju sniegto nemonetāro labumu un psiholoģiskā kapitāla saistību ar apmierinātību ar darbu un iesaisti darbā. Pētījumā piedalījās 77 respondenti (sievietes - 64; vīrieši - 13), visi no viena uzņēmuma. Respondenti bija vecumā no 18 līdz 35 gadiem. Iesaistes darbā mērīšanai tika izmantota Utrehtas Iesaistes darbā aptauja (Utrecht Work Engagement Scale UWES-9), (Schaufeli & Bakker, 2003). Apmierinātība ar darbu tika mērīta ar Apmierinātības ar darbu aptauju (Job Satisfaction Survey – Spector, 1998). Psiholoģiskais kapitāls tika mērīts ar Psiholoģiskā kapitāla aptauju. Biotopu apsaimniekošanas ietekme uz veģetāciju un ozolu atjaunošanos dabas liegumā "Paņemūnes meži"

DL „Paņemūnes meži” tika veikta apsaimniekošana – izcērtot 2.stāvā un paaugā esošās egles. Eksperimentālie meža biotopu apsaimniekošanas darbi tika veikti LIFE+ projekta „Natura 2000 teritoriju nacionālā aizsardzības un apsaimniekošanas programma” ietvaros. Izvirzītas hipotēzes:1) pēc apsaimniekošanas darbiem zemsedzē palielināsies ozolu sējeņu skaitas un nemorālo augu sugu segumas;2) ilgtermiņā uzlabosies jau esošo ozolu augšana un attīstība. Pirmajā gadā pēc apsaimniekošanas ozolu sējeņu skaits nepalielinājās. Biotopā parādījās viena nemorālā suga, kā arī 26 jaunas augu sugas, kas varētu nomākt ozolu sējeņus un nemorālo floru, jo tām lielākoties raksturīga strauja izplatīšanās.
