Global responsibility: An exploratory corpus assisted discourse analysis of the Rohingya crisis in online media

This study conducts an exploratory corpus-assisted discourse analysis of the representation of the Rohingya minority group across online news media in the United Kingdom. The purpose of the study is to identify and interpret the discursive patterns employed in popular online news media when depicting the Rohingya minority and associated crises affecting the group in Myanmar and worldwide. The main purpose of this study is to define the parameters or indicators of quality in international news in television. The analysis focuses on a global event: the bombing at the Boston Marathon. The research analyses the information issued in the second edition of daily news in television channels in Spain: TVE, Antena 3, Telecinco, Cuatro and La Sexta. Facebook’s Emotional Contagion Experiment as a Challenge to Research Ethics

This article analyzes the ethical discussion focusing on the Facebook emotional contagion experiment published by the <em>Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences</em> in 2014. The massive-scale experiment manipulated the News Feeds of a large amount of Facebook users and was successful in proving that emotional contagion happens also in online environments. Localizing the politics of privacy in communication and media research

While previous communication and media research has largely focused on either studying privacy as personal boundary management or made efforts to investigate the structural (legal or economic) condition of privacy, we observe an emergent body of research on the political underpinnings of privacy linking both aspects. Psychopharmacological Drugs as Represented in the Press: Results of Systematic Analysis of Newspapers and Popular Magazines

The representation of mental diseases and psychopharmacological drugs in the media, especially in the press, is thought to be of great impact on people's opinions on the subject. During the course of one year, all articles about psychopharmacological drugs and cardiac drugs published in nineteen German newspapers were collected. The Coronavirus pandemic has triggered an authentic infodemic, which is a global epidemic of disinformation that has spread throughout most of the world. Social media platforms and pseudo-media outlets have contributed to the problem by producing and disseminating misleading content that is potentially dangerous to public health.
