Three Spirostanol Glycosides from the Seeds of Hyoscyamus Niger L.
2006
Three steroidal glycosides of spirostane series have been isolated from the seeds of Hyoscyamus niger L.(Solanaceae). Their structures were determined on the basis of chemical evidence and extensive spectroscopic methods including one-dimensional, two-dimensional NMR and MS analysis. In the genus Hyoscyamus the given compounds have been found out for the first time.
Die Glucose-Oxydasen aus Penicillium notatum (Notatin) und Aspergillus niger (Nigerin) I. Isolierung und einige molekulare eigenschaften
1965
Summary By chromatography on carboxymethyl- and diethylaminoethyl-Sephadex pure preparations of the glucose oxidases ( β - d -glucose: oxygen oxidoreductase, EC 1.1.3.4) notatin from Penicillium notatum and nigerin from Aspergillus niger could be obtained. Differences in the binding to the cation- and anion-exchangers indicate that these two glucose oxidases differ markedly with respect to the structures of the respective apoenzymes. A mixture of notatin and nigerin can easily be separated by chromatography. Moreover, there are also structural differences in the neighbourhood of the prosthetic flavin-adenine dinucleotide groups. The flavin-adenine dinucleotide spectrum of notatin is shifted…
Trapping of Different Lipase Conformers in Water-Restricted Environments
1996
Based on a recently reported strategy to rationally activate lipolytic enzymes for use in nonaqueous media [Mingarro, I., et al. (1995) Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 92, 3308-3312], we compared the behavior in water-restricted environments of activated vs nonactivated forms of different lipases toward their natural substrates, triacylglycerols. To this end, nine lipases from varied origins (mammalian, fungal, and bacterial) were assayed using simple acidolyses as nonaqueous model reactions. The experimental results for several (though not all) lipases, discussed in the light of current structural and functional information, were collectively consistent with a model where, depending on the "…
Study on the reduction of acrylamide in mixed rye bread by fermentation with bacteriocin-like inhibitory substances producing lactic acid bacteria in…
2013
Abstract This study mainly focuses on a strategy for reducing of acrylamide in cereal products, predominantly in bakery products. The effect of mesophilic lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains as well as a novel fermentation media on the bases of extruded rye wholemeal on the acrylamide formation in mixed rye bread of different weight of loaf was studied. The LC–MS/MS method for acrylamide determination in bread crumb has been applied. Addition of 15% low pH (pH 3.4–4.3) fermented product to bread dough, which were produced by using commercial strain Lactobacillus casei and bacteriocin-like inhibitory substances (BLIS) producing strains Lactobacillus sakei KTU05-6 , Pediococcus acidilactici KT…
Social Media Usage for Computing Education : The Effect of The Strength and Group Communication on Perceived Learning Outcome
2020
Social media has become an important platform where users share, comment, discuss, communicate, interact, and play games. Aside from using social media for personal, social, and business purposes, the use of social media has gained attention, particularly for collaborative learning in the educational sector. This paper examines the role of social media in computing education based on the use of WhatsApp social media group. Additionally, the study explores how social media usage by students influences their perceived learning outcomes. Given these aims, the study formulated four research hypotheses and tested using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling. With the participants of …

Factors influencing mobile banking continuous use in Sub-Sahara Africa : A study of mobile banking users in Nigeria
2019
The ubiquitous diffusion of information and communications technology is fundamentally impacting several sectors. In the financial services sub-sector, the convenience and speed that mobile banking (m-banking) applications offer users have made it one of the most popular applications in use. However, the growth trajectory of the application is questionably different as it has continually seen a decline in the Nigerian market. The aim of this study is therefore to examine the factors influencing m-banking continuous use in an emerging market context by using a hybrid of unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2), uses and gratification, and privacy theories. Survey data were…
Moving forward sustainably : material and social conditions of electronic waste management in Nigeria
2018
This dissertation focuses on understanding the social material interaction between e-waste and e-scrappers for sustainable management of e-waste. Previous studies mainly concentrate on the detrimental environmental impact of e-scrappers activities, the economic and political influences of e-waste on the e-scrappers, the material flow of e-waste and the exportation of valuable e-waste extracts from highly industrialized countries to less industrialized countries. The aim of the dissertation is therefore to extend the scope of the previous studies by investigating the social material interaction between e-scrappers and e-waste. To achieve this aim, this study examines the following research q…
