Throughout the paper we consider only finite groups.J. C. Beidleman and H. Smith [3] have proposed the following question: “If G is a group and Ha subnormal subgroup of G containing Φ(G), the Frattini subgroup of G, such that H/Φ(G)is supersoluble, is H necessarily supersoluble? “In this paper, we give not only an affirmative answer to this question but also we see that the above result still holds if supersoluble is replaced by any saturated formation containing the class of all nilpotent groups.

ON A PERMUTABILITY PROPERTY OF SUBGROUPS OF FINITE SOLUBLE GROUPS

The structure and embedding of subgroups permuting with the system normalizers of a finite soluble group are studied in the paper. It is also proved that the class of all finite soluble groups in which every subnormal subgroup permutes with the Sylow subgroups is properly contained in the class of all soluble groups whose subnormal subgroups permute with the system normalizers while this latter is properly contained in the class of all supersoluble groups.

Sylow permutable subnormal subgroups of finite groups

[EN] An extension of the well-known Frobenius criterion of p-nilpotence in groups with modular Sylow p-subgroups is proved in the paper. This result is useful to get information about the classes of groups in which every subnormal subgroup is permutable and Sylow permutable.

Topology-based goodness-of-fit tests for sliced spatial data

In materials science and many other application domains, 3D information can often only be extrapolated by taking 2D slices. In topological data analysis, persistence vineyards have emerged as a powerful tool to take into account topological features stretching over several slices. In the present paper, we illustrate how persistence vineyards can be used to design rigorous statistical hypothesis tests for 3D microstructure models based on data from 2D slices. Iterative approximation to a coincidence point of two mappings

In this article two methods for approximating the coincidence point of two mappings are studied and moreover, rates of convergence for both methods are given. These results are illustrated by several examples, in particular we apply such results to study the convergence and their rate of convergence of these methods to the solution of a nonlinear integral equation and of a nonlinear differential equation.

Appropriate kernels for Divisive Normalization explained by Wilson-Cowan equations

The interaction between wavelet-like sensors in Divisive Normalization is classically described through Gaussian kernels that decay with spatial distance, angular distance and frequency distance. However, simultaneous explanation of (a) distortion perception in natural image databases and (b) contrast perception of artificial stimuli requires very specific modifications in classical Divisive Normalization. This article deals with the derivation and analysis of the statistical properties of the instantaneous channel capacitya of N*Nakagami-m channels, which has been recently introduced as a suitable stochastic model for multihop fading channels. We have derived exact analytical expressions for the probability density function (PDF), cumulative distribution function (CDF), level-crossing rate (LCR), and average duration of fades (ADF) of the instantaneous channel capacity of N*Nakagami-m channels.
