FRAME MODELIZATION OF DISCOURSE PRESSURES ON INFORMATION TRANSFER AND TEXTUAL ORGANIZATION OF A TEXT GENRE.

2023

The present article aims at investigating the discursive pressures at the phrasal and textual level for a text genre, here wine advertisements from Austrian supermarket leaflets. After having developed the theoretical framework of Germanic inspiration, a case study is conducted to highlight these discursive pressures.

Supporting Cyber Resilience with Semantic Wiki

2016

Cyber resilient organizations, their functions and computing infrastructures, should be tolerant towards rapid and unexpected changes in the environment. Information security is an organization-wide common mission; whose success strongly depends on efficient knowledge sharing. For this purpose, semantic wikis have proved their strength as a flexible collaboration and knowledge sharing platforms. However, there has not been notable academic research on how semantic wikis could be used as information security management platform in organizations for improved cyber resilience. In this paper, we propose to use semantic wiki as an agile information security management platform. More precisely, t…

Remote Attestation of Software and Execution-Environment in Modern Machines

2015

The research on network security concentrates mainly on securing the communication channels between two endpoints, which is insufficient if the authenticity of one of the endpoints cannot be determined with certainty. Previously presented methods that allow one endpoint, the authentication authority, to authenticate another remote machine. These methods are inadequate for modern machines that have multiple processors, introduce virtualization extensions, have a greater variety of side effects, and suffer from nondeterminism. This paper addresses the advances of modern machines with respect to the method presented by Kennell. The authors describe how a remote attestation procedure, involving…

Anomaly detection approach to keystroke dynamics based user authentication

2017

Keystroke dynamics is one of the authentication mechanisms which uses natural typing pattern of a user for identification. In this work, we introduced Dependence Clustering based approach to user authentication using keystroke dynamics. In addition, we applied a k-NN-based approach that demonstrated strong results. Most of the existing approaches use only genuine users data for training and validation. We designed a cross validation procedure with artificially generated impostor samples that improves the learning process yet allows fair comparison to previous works. We evaluated the methods using the CMU keystroke dynamics benchmark dataset. Both proposed approaches outperformed the previou…

Is My Office 365 GDPR Compliant? : Security Issues in Authentication and Administration

2018

The General Data Protection Regulation, commonly referred as GDPR, will be enforced in all European Union countries in May 2018. GDPR sets requirements for processing EU citizens’ personal data regardless of the physical location of the organisation processing the data. Over 40 percent of European organisations are using Office 365. Microsoft claims that Office 365 service is GDPR compliant, and has provided tools to help Office 365 customers to ensure their GDPR compliancy. In this paper, we present some security issues related to the very foundation of Office 365 service, namely Azure Active Directory and administrative tools, and assess their GDPR compliancy. Our findings reveal that per…

Introduction to Integrating Knowledge and Learning Processes Minitrack

2013

This minitrack discusses knowledge management (KM) from an integrated perspective, i.e., the integration of KM, learning, and business processes. It mainly focuses on two issues: a) how can knowledge, learning and business processes integrated, and b) how can the related systems be integrated to enable an efficient workflow. Currently, even less learning environments take context and environment into account. Using mobile and ubiquitous technologies can lead to a paradigm shift in the construction of such learning environments: from static to highly contextualized knowledge and learning experiences. Based on the integration of knowledge and learning systems into social networks and social m…

Introduction to the designing and deploying next generation knowledge systems and knowledge intensive business processes minitrack

2013

Work systems and the knowledge systems enabling them need to be aligned with emerging technologies to ensure organizational acceptance and to support effective organizational value creation. Traditional, often monolithic knowledge system architectures need to be redesigned due to technological progress manifested by, for example, social software, mashups, and semantic technologies. In our view, these redesigns lead to a new class of knowledge systems that we call “Next Generation Knowledge Systems.” Project management (PM) involved in the design and deployment of knowledge systems differs from the PM involved in traditional IS projects. While design projects are essential in creating next g…

Customer Feedback System : Evolution Towards Semantically-enchanced Systems

2015

The digital economy requires services be created in nearly real time – while continuously listening to the customer. Managing and analysing the data collected about products and customers become very critical. Successful companies must collect data regarding customer behaviour in a sensible manner, understand their customers and engage in constant interaction with them. Nowadays, having a huge data storage capacity, everyone collects data and hopes that it will be useful someday. But, it is frustrating when you do not know whether something useful will come out of it. It is not a problem to collect data, but it is very difficult to analyse it. To utilize the data they collect and analyse cu…

Use of a Semantic Language to Reduce the Indeterminacy in Agents Communication

2014

In the field of agent communications uncertainty and vagueness in the message content and in the achievable results play a primordial role when two agents (human or artificial) communicate. Even though the importance of vagueness and uncertainty has been recognized long ago, only recently mechanisms related to the communications’ semantics that allow a practical approach have been designed; more specifically, the development of tools such as agent programming languages and frameworks, which is a field of intensive research. On the other hand, recent theoretical ideas, drawn from situation semantics theory and the works of Sutton on semantic information, support this work. This paper applies…
