On exotic affine 3-spheres

2014

Every A 1 \mathbb {A}^{1} -bundle over A ∗ 2 , \mathbb {A}_{\ast }^{2}, the complex affine plane punctured at the origin, is trivial in the differentiable category, but there are infinitely many distinct isomorphy classes of algebraic bundles. Isomorphy types of total spaces of such algebraic bundles are considered; in particular, the complex affine 3 3 -sphere S C 3 , \mathbb {S}_{\mathbb {C}}^{3}, given by z 1 2 + z 2 2 + z 3 2 + z 4 2 = 1 , z_{1}^{2}+z_{2}^{2}+z_{3}^{2}+z_{4}^{2}=1, admits such a structure with an additional homogeneity property. Total spaces of nontrivial homogeneous A 1 \mathbb {A}^{1} -bundles over A ∗ 2 \mathbb {A}_{\ast }^{2} are classified up to G m \mathbb {G}_{m}…

Fixed points for Geraghty-Contractions in partial metric spaces

2015

We establish some fixed point theorems for mappings satisfying Geraghty-type contractive conditions in the setting of partial metric spaces and ordered partial metric spaces. Presented theorems extend and generalize many existing results in the literature. Examples are given showing that these results are proper extensions of the existing ones. c ©2014 All rights reserved.

KNOTS AND LINKS IN INTEGRABLE HAMILTONIAN SYSTEMS

1998

The main purpose of this paper is to prove that Bott integrable Hamiltonian flows and non-singular Morse-Smale flows are closely related. As a consequence, we obtain a classification of the knots and links formed by periodic orbits of Bott integrable Hamiltonians on the 3-sphere and on the solid torus. We also show that most of Fomenko's theory on the topology of the energy levels of Bott integrable Hamiltonians can be derived from Morgan's results on 3-manifolds that admit non-singular Morse-Smale flows.

In general, we use the same notation as in 6 and 7 .wx wxPart of the proof of Theorem A depends on the basic properties of theGajendragadkar p-special characters 1 and we assume the reader iswxfamiliar with those. Invariant Markov semigroups on quantum homogeneous spaces

2019

Invariance properties of linear functionals and linear maps on algebras of functions on quantum homogeneous spaces are studied, in particular for the special case of expected coideal *-subalgebras. Several one-to-one correspondences between such invariant functionals are established. Adding a positivity condition, this yields one-to-one correspondences of invariant quantum Markov semigroups acting on expected coideal *-subalgebras and certain convolution semigroups of states on the underlying compact quantum group. This gives an approach to classifying invariant quantum Markov semigroups on these quantum homogeneous spaces. The generators of these semigroups are viewed as Laplace operators …

PERIPHERALLY SPECIFIED HOMOMORPHS OF LINK GROUPS

2005

Johnson and Livingston have characterized peripheral structures in homomorphs of knot groups. We extend their approach to the case of links. The main result is an algebraic characterization of all possible peripheral structures in certain homomorphic images of link groups.

Let [Formula: see text] be the algebra of Laurent polynomials in the variable [Formula: see text] and let [Formula: see text] be the algebra of Laurent polynomials in the variable [Formula: see text] and standard polynomials in the variables [Formula: see text] For [Formula: see text] we denote by [Formula: see text] the virtual braid group on [Formula: see text] strands. We define two towers of algebras [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] in terms of diagrams. For each [Formula: see text] we determine presentations for both, [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. We determine sequences of homomorphisms [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], we determine Markov traces […

La singularité de O’Grady

2006

Let M 2 v M_{2v} be the moduli space of semistable sheaves with Mukai vector 2 v 2v on an abelian or K 3 K3 surface where v v is primitive such that ⟨ v , v ⟩ = 2 \langle v,v \rangle =2 . We show that the blow-up of the reduced singular locus of M 2 v M_{2v} provides a symplectic resolution of singularities. This provides a direct description of O’Grady’s resolutions of M K 3 ( 2 , 0 , 4 ) M_{K3}(2,0,4) and M A b ( 2 , 0 , 2 ) M_{Ab}(2,0,2) .
