Viollet-le-Duc e la percezione delle architetture classiche in Sicilia

Il contributo è volto ad esaminare i disegni relativi alle architetture classiche compiuti da Viollet-le-Duc durante il suo viaggio in Sicilia nel 1836. La marcata eterogeneità del suo repertorio iconografico, sia in relazione ai soggetti rappresentati e alla scala dimensionale, spaziando dalle vedute di paesaggio ai particolari architettonici, che alla tecnica e al tipo di rappresentazione, dalle prospettive pittoriche alle proiezioni ortogonali, oltre a denotare una notevole abilità grafica, evidenzia la vastità dei suoi interessi. L'esame dei disegni è accompagnato dallo studio delle lettere inviate ai familiari durante il suo soggiorno nell'isola e del suo diario (Journal).

Some drawings feature a powerful evocative nature, capable of presenting a truthful vision that can replace, in collective imagination, the actual expression of reality. This is the case of the "restorations" of Selinunte proposed by the French architect Jean-Louis Hulot (Paris 1871 -1959) which still today evoke the splendours of the ancient city. Thanks to his accurate surveys and inspired by the visit to the remains of further ancient cities such as Priene, Tera, Delos, and Pompeii, Hulot proposed in his watercolour drawings a vision of a "living" city, rendered at the height of its architectural and social magnificence. International audience; This paper aims to analyze the socioeconomic diversity of the European Union (EU-28) regions from a dynamic perspective. For that purpose, we combine a series of exploratory space-time analysis approaches to multiple Factor Analysis (MFA) applied to a large range of indicators collected at the NUTS-2 level for the period 2000–2015 for the EU-28. First, we find that the first factor of MFA, interpreted as economic development (ECO-DEV), is spatially clustered and that a moderate convergence process is at work between European regions from 2000 to 2015.
