We evaluate the relationship between the values of gamma-glutamyl trans peptidase (GGT), a marker of hepatic involvement, and cardio metabolic risk factors in obese children. Methods A prospective cross-sectional study of 147 children (aged 7 to 16 years) was carried out. Coeliac disease (CD) is a chronic disease which could stress patients and their family. Although, poor attention has been paid to the quality of life in CD children and to the functioning of families with CD children. The study aims to evaluate the parenting perception of the CD impact and the parenting distress level. A group of 74 parents of CD children compiled the Impact Childhood Illness Scale and the Parenting Stress Index which is also compiled by 74 parents of health children. One purpose of this study was the development of methods for radioactive labeling and handling of the yolk protein of Nereis virens, another, the utilization of this tracer in nereid oocyte cultures to describe the kinetics and specificity of yolk protein uptake. Accumulation of labeled yolk protein by growing oocytes is linear over time, specific for yolk protein, and dependent on tracer concentration in the medium. Incorporation of yolk protein follows saturation kinetics which allows us to reproducibly determine the characteristics of this process.
