Knowledge Graphs have been recognized as a valuable source for background information in many data mining, information retrieval, natural language processing, and knowledge extraction tasks. However, obtaining a suitable feature vector representation from RDF graphs is a challenging task. In this paper, we extend the RDF2Vec approach, which leverages language modeling techniques for unsupervised feature extraction from sequences of entities. The lattice Boltzmann method is a well-established numerical approach for complex fluid flow simulations. Recently general-purpose graphics processing units have become accessible as high-performance computing resources at large-scale. We report on implementing a lattice Boltzmann solver for multi-GPU systems that achieves 0.69 PFLOPS performance on 16384 GPUs. In addition to optimizing the data layout on the GPUs and eliminating the halo sites, we make use of the possibility to overlap data transfer between the host CPU and the device GPU with computing on the GPU. Does corn market uncertainty impact the US ethanol prices?

The growing interest in biofuel as a green energy source has intensified the linkages between corn and ethanol markets, especially in the United States that represents the largest producing and exporting country for ethanol in the world. In this study, we examine the effect of corn market uncertainty on the price changes of US ethanol applying a set of GARCH-jump models. We find that the US ethanol price changes react positively to the corn market volatility shocks after controlling for the effect of oil price uncertainty. Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitettiin maahanmuuton vaikutusta kohdemaan väestölle niin väestörakenteellisesti kuin taloudellisesti. Taloudellisia vaikutuksia esitellään aiempien tutkimusten valossa. Vastaavasti maahanmuuton vaikutusta väestörakenteeseen ja työllisten määrään tutkittiin skenaariolaskennan avulla. Painopiste skenaariolaskelmissa on työperäinen maahanmuutto Suomeen. Laskelmat tehtiin sekä koko Suomen tasolla että aluetasolla käyttäen aluejaotteluna maakuntatasoa. Koko maan kattavat laskelmat pohjautuvat Eurostatin väestöennusteeseen ja alueelliset laskelmat Tilastokeskuksen väestöennusteeseen. Tämä pro gradu -tutkielma on laadullinen tapaustutkimus huostassa olleiden lasten sisarussuhteista. Tutkielmassa on lähdetty etsimään vastauksia kysymyksiin: mitä sisarussuhteet merkitsevät sijoitet-tuina olleille lapsille, miten sisaruus on huomioitu huostaanotossa ja miten huostaanotto on vaikut-tanut sisarussuhteisiin. Tarkastelun kohteena on kolme sijoitushistorialtaan erityyppistä sisarustapa-usta.
