Study of Spanish Grape Mycobiota and Ochratoxin A Production by the Isolates of Aspergillus tubingensis and other Aspergillus section Nigri

The native mycobiota of five grape varieties grown in Spain has been studied. Four (Bobal, Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Monastrell) were red varieties and one (Moscatel) was white. The main fungal genera isolated were Alternaria, Cladosporium, and Aspergillus. The isolation frequency of Aspergillus spp. section Nigri in contaminated samples was 82%. Ochratoxin A (OTA) production was assessed using yeast extract-sucrose broth supplemented with 5% bee pollen. Cultures of 205 isolates from this section showed that 74.2% of Aspergillus carbonarius and 14.3% of Aspergillus tubingensis isolates produced OTA at levels ranging from 1.2 to 3,530 ng/ml and from 46.4 to 111.5 ng/ml, respectively. Pētījumā tiek analizēta sieviešu tēlu sistēma trijos antīkajos romānos: Haritona romānā Kalliroja, Longa romānā Dafnids un Hloja un Āpulēja romānā Zelta ēzelis. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt sieviešu tēlu sistēmas iezīmes antīkajā romānā un noteikt tēlu daudzveidību sistēmas ietvaros, identificējot un klasificējot darbos sastopamos sieviešu tēlus un izpētot to mijiedarbību ar vīriešu tēlu sistēmu. Darba gaitā sieviešu tēli tiek iedalīti četrās grupās, balstoties uz viņu stāvokli sabiedrībā un mijiedarbi ar citiem tēliem: jaunās sievietes, sievietes laulībā, sievietes ārpus laulības, dievietes. The aim of the present study was to investigate the potential of high-pressure processing (HPP) (600 MPa during 5 min) on emerging mycotoxins, enniatin A (ENNA), enniatin A1 (ENNA1), enniatin B (ENNB), enniatin B1 (ENNB1) reduction in different juice/milk models, and to compare it with the effect of a traditional thermal treatment (HT) (90 °C during 21 s). Iron is an essential micronutrient for most living beings since it participates as a redox active cofactor in many biological processes including cellular respiration, lipid biosynthesis, DNA replication and repair, and ribosome biogenesis and recycling. However, when present in excess, iron can participate in Fenton reactions and generate reactive oxygen species that damage cells at the level of proteins, lipids and nucleic acids. Distribution of Albian clastic deposits in the Benguela basin (Angola): evidence of a Benguela palaeocurrent?

Abstract The Albian clastic Tuenza Formation of the Benguela basin (south Angola) is described and its geographic distribution analysed in detail. From these observations, the existence of an Albian “PalaeoBenguela current” is proposed. This would imply that a marine longshore current reworked the sand transported by palaeorivers and settled it northward along the coast of the young Atlantic Ocean (during the Albian). A parallel between Albian clastic deposits and the modern sediments deposited by the Benguela current is drawn, focusing on the striking resemblance between the two currents, i.e. the actual Benguela current and the Albian marine current, and the associated sedimentary bodies.
