A theoretical determination of the electronic spectrum of formaldehyde
1995
The electronically excited states of formaldehyde are examined by means of multiconfigurational second-order perturbation (CASPT2) theory with extended ANO-type basis sets. The calculations comprised five valence excited states plus all singlet 3s, 3p, and 3d members of the Rydberg series converging on the first ionization. The computed vertical excitation energies were found to be within 0.2 eV of the available experimental energies. Full geometry optimization has been performed for five valence excited states. Assuming a planar geometry, the “0-0” transition for the valence1A1(π → π*) state is calculated to appear near 7.9 eV, close to the (n y → 3p) region. This state is, however, not pl…
Theoretical study of the electronic spectra ofcis-1,3,5-hexatriene andcis-1,3-butadiene
1994
The electronic spectra forcis-1,3-butadiene andcis-1,3,5-hexatriene have been studied using multiconfiguration second-order perturbation theory (CASPT2) and extended ANO basis sets. The calculations comprise all singlet valence excited states below 8.0 eV, the first 3s, 3p, 3d Rydberg states, and the second 3s state. The four lowest triplet states were also studied. The resulting excitation energies forcis-hexatriene have been used in an assignment of the experimental spectrum, leading to a maximum deviation of 0.13 eV for the vertical transition energies. The calculations place the 11 B 2 state 0.04 eV below the 21 A 1 state. 16 excited states were studied incis-butadiene, using a CASPT2 o…
2011
This paper aims at analysing a very well-known Italian neighbourhood, which is located in Palermo and called Zen. This neighbourhood has often been described as a clear example of the worst and most disgraced urban landscapes in Italy, as mass media and local stakeholders shaped its image for their own uses. Through a series of interviews, on-the-spot inspections and the use of other qualitative methodologies, the final goal of this paper is to subvert traditional representations of this place and enforce a plural way of describing it, using research techniques that might position the researcher and his or her own description inside a larger framework. Would geographers, social scientists a…
External and internal elimination of supernumerary larvae in the whitefly parasitoid Eretmocerus mundus Mercet (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae)
2008
Abstract The solitary parasitoid Eretmocerus mundus Mercet (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) is one of the key biological control agents of the whitefly Bemisia argentifolii Bellows & Perring, also known as B. tabaci (Gennadius) B-biotype (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae). We present new information on its biology, and particularly about larval elimination during the first instar in cases of superparasitism. For the first time, physical elimination of supernumerary larvae was observed, both outside and inside the host. These findings are documented with confocal microscopy images and video recordings. We observed more than 350 B. argentifolii nymphs, parasitized with one, two or more than two larvae. Physi…
PER UN’ANALISI DEI CONTRATTI DI MISTHOPRASIA
2014
The author deals with three unknown and mysterious Egyptian papyri (Pap. Lond. iii, 1164 h, BGU iv 1157, P. Oxy xvii 2136), which are dated from the i b.C. to the iii a.d. His idea is that these documents prove the use of the contract of misthoprasia for the fulfillment of the munera for the annona. He demonstrates that this papyri contain a sort of long-term agreement, used to optimize the liturgical public service.
Atvērta plānojuma biroja interjera izveides nosacījumi
2018
Diplomdarbs “Atvērta plānojuma biroja interjera izveides nosacījumi” sastāv no trīs nodaļām.
Darbs sastāv no četrām nodaļām: pirmajā nodaļā tiek aplūkoti bir…

Allium therinanthum (Amaryllidaceae), a new species from Israel
2014
Allium therinanthum, a new species of A. sect. Codonoprasum, is described and illustrated from southern Mt. Hermon (Israel). It is a late-flowering diploid species (2n = 16), growing on calcareous substrates of the mountain belt. It is a narrowly distributed geophyte, showing morphological relationships mainly with A. tardiflorum, a typical autumnal species also occurring in Israel within the pinewoods of Mt. Carmel. The morphology, karyology, leaf anatomy, ecology, conservation status and taxonomical relations are examined for both species. A taxonomic comparison with the most allied late flowering species of the sect. Codonoprasum is provided.
