Innovation capabilities in tourism and food production SMEs in the Baltic Sea Region

Drawing on the resource-based view, this paper addresses two fundamental questions: what innovation capabilities are most important for the creation of innovations in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and what are the relations between different innovation capabilities? We propose a model for the analysis of innovation capabilities in small and medium enterprises. In the model, we distinguish between capacities, such as access to financial, physical, technological and human resources, and competencies, such as knowledge and skills, market and entrepreneurial orientation. The findings are based on surveys from 277 tourism and food production SMEs from five Baltic Sea Region countries.

The real and imaginary parts of the spectrum are in good agreement with the experimental data, and we provide an assignment of the SFG bands according to the dipole orientation of the interfacial water molecules. We use an instantaneous definition of the surface, which is more adapted to the study of interfacial phenomena than the Gibbs dividing surface. A robust forward-displacement analysis of spherical parallel robots

The forward-displacement analysis of spherical parallel robots (SPRs) is revisited. A robust approach, based on the input–output (I/O) equation of spherical four-bar linkages, is proposed. In this approach, the closed-loop kinematic chain of a SPR is partitioned into two four-bar spherical chains, whose I/O equations are at the core of the analysis reported here. These equations lead to a trigonometric equation in the joint angles, which is solved semigraphically to obtain the joint variables for the determination of the moving plate orientation. Examples are included to demonstrate the application of the method.

In this article, we analyze the direct effects of the open innovation (OI) processes of acquisition and exploitation on innovation performance (IP), as well as the effects of two antecedents of OI: organizational emotional capability (EC) and rivaĺs absorptive capacity orientation (RACO). RACO implies processing external information in an analytical manner, whereas an intuitive approach is implicit in EC. The Role of Entrepreneurial and Networking Orientations in Developing Marketing Capabilities of Born Global Firms

The large multinational enterprises rely on their size and significant resources to develop marketing capabilities. On the other hand, little is known about how resource-constrained born global firms develop necessary marketing capabilities to operate in multiple international markets. This paper attempts to fill this gap conceptually by discussing relationships between entrepreneurial orientation, networking orientation, marketing capabilities, and performance in the context of born global firms. To fulfill this objective, research propositions are presented based on an extensive literature review. Preliminary conclusions and suggestions for further research are also provided.

Television (TV) cartoons could reflect and shape social values about children’s health-related behaviors. The main aim of this study is to analyze the portrayal of physical activity (PA) domains in the most popular Spanish children’s television (TV) cartoons. It is performed a content analysis of each scene following a coding scheme. The sample selected included the five most popular children’s TV cartoons for the 2013-2014 period in Spain. This thesis examines the access of vocational baccalaureate holders to higher education in light of two major recent developments: the explosion in the number of vocational baccalaureate holders, on the one hand, and the continuous increase in their enrollment rate in higher education, on the other hand. Between 2000 and 2015, the combination of these two phenomena led to an almost fourfold increase in the number of vocational baccalaureates enrolled in higher education.
