Analytical results forO(αs)radiative corrections toe+e−→tt¯↑up to a given gluon energy cut

We determine the O({alpha}{sub s}) radiative corrections to polarized top quark pair production in e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilations with a specified gluon energy cut. We write down fully analytical results for the unpolarized and polarized O({alpha}{sub s}) cross sections e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}tt(G) and e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}tt{sup {up_arrow}}(G) including their polar orientation dependence relative to the beam direction. In the soft-gluon limit we recover the usual factorizing form known from the soft-gluon approximation. A special class of uncoupled and quasi-homogeneous laminates

Abstract This paper deals with two main problems in laminate design: the search for uncoupled and quasi-homogeneous laminates. Using the polar representation method, the authors show the existence of a particular class of mathematically exact solutions to these two problems. An important feature of these solutions is that they are independent of the orientations of the layers. In fact, these orientations are not fixed by the method, and each solution determines in reality only a stacking sequence, where each layer belongs to a group of plies having the same orientation. Abstract The concept of deformation phases is one of the corner stones of structural geology but, despite its simplicity, there are situations where the concept breaks down. In the Goantagab Domain of NW Namibia, structures in an area of complex deformation can be subdivided into at least four sets, attributed to four deformation phases on the basis of overprinting relations. Three of these sets of structures, however, formed during the same tectonic event under similar metamorphic circumstances but slightly different flow conditions.
