Process-oriented knowledge system for health professionals as a tool for transition to hospital process orientation

2016

AbstractHospitals face increasing pressure to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and guarantee a quality of services. This is perhaps the main reason why hospital process orientation (HPO) – a view on a hospital being a group of processes organized around patients with similar needs is a growing field of interest among hospital managers and researchers. The theoretical research of the content of hospital activities was performed in order to determine the main distinct characteristics in hospital organization that determine the specifics for a process-oriented knowledge system. A conceptual proposal of a technological tool was elaborated taking into account the limited control of hospital man…

1999

International audience; The firts grade o french upper secondary school (lycée) is very important in terms of school careers, especially as regards with social and gender differenciations. This paper examines the process (periods and mechanisms) which explains the unequal access to scientific baccalauréat of boys and girls in one hand, and white and blue collar children in the other hand. The main differenciation is linked with the options courses choices which appear to be strongly determinant for the future school careers. School team answers to the demands expressed by the families in the middle and at the end of the school year also participate to these differenciations. They tend to re…

The Effect of Perceived Corporate Competencies on Onsumer Based Brand Equity: A Comparison between Domestic and Foreign Markets

2015

In this paper, the authors develop a model to explain the cross-cultural influence of perceived corporate competencies on attitude formation towards the brand’s product categories and its impact on consumer based brand equity. Results indicate that some competencies have a transnational effect in several product categories, whereas several corporate competencies are identified to influence perception of product categories depending on the market.

The membrane environment modulates self-association of the human GpA TM domain--implications for membrane protein folding and transmembrane signaling.

2010

Abstract The influence of lipid bilayer properties on a defined and sequence-specific transmembrane helix–helix interaction is not well characterized yet. To study the potential impact of changing bilayer properties on a sequence-specific transmembrane helix–helix interaction, we have traced the association of fluorescent-labeled glycophorin A transmembrane peptides by fluorescence spectroscopy in model membranes with varying lipid compositions. The observed changes of the glycophorin A dimerization propensities in different lipid bilayers suggest that the lipid bilayer thickness severely influences the monomer–dimer equilibrium of this transmembrane domain, and dimerization was most effici…

Importance of the Motivational Climate in Goal, Enjoyment, and the Causes of Success in Handball Players

2017

The purpose of the study is to examine the effects of the motivational climate created by the coach and perceived by a group of young handball players on their goal orientations, their beliefs regarding reasons for success and their self-satisfaction. The study participants were 159 young handball players. Players were administered a battery composed of tests to measure the above-mentioned motivational constructs. Results showed that a perceived mastery-oriented motivational climate was positively related to a task-centered goal orientation, enjoyment, and a belief that success may be achieved through effort. In contrast, a perceived performance-orientated training climate was linked to an …

Integration of local features into a global shape

2001

AbstractIt is a well-established fact that the cortical filters selective for spatial frequency and orientation have a limited spatial extent. The present study investigated how information from local filters is integrated into global shapes. Specifically, we were interested in whether identification of a global pattern consisting of small oriented, spatially-bandpass features (Gabor patches) depends on the orientations of those features. The observer was presented with a C-like stimulus shape comprised of oriented Gabor elements on a blank background, and the performance measure was the threshold contrast for identifying the global orientation of the C-shape (four possible rotated orientat…
