The Need to Approach the Management of the Tourist Destination by the Central and Local Public Authorities in Romania
2017
Abstract In the medium and long term, priorities in the development of tourism aim to develop a complex tourist offer, making the most of the natural and anthropogenic resources existing in connection with the preservation of the environment and the heritage. On the long run, it will contribute to raising the living standards of the population, especially social categories with lower chances of reintegration into the labour market (people made redundant in industry, elderly people etc.). Implementation of the strategy at regional level must be achieved through an active partnership between Romanian public authorities, economic agents and private investors, with the involvement of the federa…
Open Service Innovation: The Case of Tourism Firms in Scandinavia
2016
Most empirical research investigating open innovation has focused on the development of new physical products in manufacturing industries, whereas open service innovation has not been researched correspondingly. Services have some characteristics that distinguish them from physical products, which may affect the types of open innovation practice utilised during service innovation processes. Tourism services comprise a subset of services that is particularly distant from tangible products. Therefore, the exploration of how tourism firms utilise different types of open innovation practice offers a valuable opportunity to learn about the nature of open service innovation practices. Thus, this …
Tourism Destination Brokers: a network analytic approach
2022
Understanding the interactions of tourist companies could be relevant for the destination’s organisation and management. The present article employs a network analysis to examine inter-organisational interactions and the various roles that some companies assume in tourism destinations. The results reveal the existence of a network in which enterprises, identified as brokers, take on strategic roles both within and outside of their specific sub-sectors of origin. This study proposes new social network analysis indicators to identify the distinctive and prevalent position of company brokers, who manage inter-organisational relations by spontaneously assuming specific roles within the tourist …
The Impact of Architecture in the Hospitality Industry: The Decision Choice in the Case of Cyprus Island
2022
In an increasingly competitive market, hospitality architecture design can be significant for tourism and destinations. This article addresses the role of hotel architecture in tourism destinations and the case of Cyprus Island. The tourist market is dominated by international groups and brands, which develop modern architecture and design for the hotels industry creating a new attraction based on architectural design. This paper examines the role of architecture in hospitality accommodation by considering the demand side. The survey was based on a questionnaire and applied multinomial regression models. The results show that hotel architecture impact can influence the selection of the dest…
Atmospheric Deposition Of Volcanogenic Major And Trace Elements On Mt. Etna (Italy)
2009
There are a variety of natural and anthropogenic sources of trace elements into the environment, and human activity has drastically changed the biogeochemical cycles and balance of several elements. In the last twenty years many efforts have been spent by the scientific community to better outline the levels of pollutants in the environment on a long-term basis, and to evaluate global large-scale changes. It is generally accepted that volcanic emissions are an important source of gases and particles to the atmosphere, contributing significantly to the natural geochemical cycles of all elements (Nriagu, 1989; Hinkley et al., 1999; Oppenheimer, 2003). Many studies have been carried out on the…
Phase equilibria of Pantelleria trachytes (Italy): constraints on pre-eruptive conditions and on the metaluminous to peralkaline transition in silici…
2018
Pantelleria Island is the type locality of pantellerite, an iron and alkali-rich rhyolite (P.I=molar Na2O+K2O/Al2O3 >1.05). Peralkaline rhyolites (i.e pantellerite and comendite) and trachytes usually represent the felsic end-members in continental rift systems (e.g., Pantelleria, Tibesti, Ethiopia, Afar, Kenya, Bain and Range, South Greenland) and in oceanic sland settings (Socorro Is., Easter Is., Iceland and Azores). The origin of peralkaline rhyolites in the different tectonic settings is still a matter of debate and three hypotheses have been suggested: (a) crystal fractionation of alkali-basalt in a shallow reservoir to produce a trachyte which subsequently gives rise to a pantelle…

Mi soffermerò infine sull’efficacia di percorsi con gli asini nell’ambito della formazione dei formatori Donkeys, due to their ethological characteristics and their symbolic value within our culture, offer the opportunity to experi…

Masteroppgave helse- og sosialinformatikk HSI500 - Universitetet i Agder 2019 BackgroundAs part of the digitalisation of health Norway, a newdigital system is introduced for the documentation of clinical protocolsand medication throughout the Helse Sør-ØstRHF. The system MetaVision replaces today's paper solutions and a few cases of other electronic systems on all health establishments. In that context, there are thousands of employees who needs to be trained. While large sums of money are being used on clinical-ICT in health care, there is little evidence of what works and what doesn't work when it comes to training. The purpose of the project is to look at this. The following issue is the…

Extracellular Vesicle microRNAs Contribute to the Osteogenic Inhibition of Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Multiple Myeloma
2020
Osteolytic bone disease is the major complication associated with the progression of multiple myeloma (MM). Recently, extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as mediators of MM-associated bone disease by inhibiting the osteogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). Here, we investigated a correlation between the EV-mediated osteogenic inhibition and MM vesicle content, focusing on miRNAs. By the use of a MicroRNA Card, we identified a pool of miRNAs, highly expressed in EVs, from MM cell line (MM1.S EVs), expression of which was confirmed in EVs from bone marrow (BM) plasma of patients affected by smoldering myeloma (SMM) and MM. Notably,we found that miR-129-5p, whic…
