Implementation of Substitution Treatment in Finland: Beyond Rationalisation and Medicalisation

AIMS Finnish treatment of drug abuse has during the last two decades shifted from a predominantly psychosocial approach to a more medical mode. This is especially evident in the rapid implementation of substitution treatments (STs). My aim is to show that labelling this development as ‘medicalisation’ or ‘rationalisation’ as a form of medical progress will not increase our understanding of the change. Televisión Española (TVE) has made possible the dissemination of medical topics in the 2016 season through four specialized health programs: Saber vivir, Centro médico, Esto es vida and El ojo clínico. In order to better understand their reception by spectators, this study analyzes, on the one hand, the data from the audiometry and, on the other hand, the results of a survey launched through social networks. [EN] This paper introduces the Time Series Simulation for Benchmarking of Reconstruction Techniques (TISSBERT) dataset, intended to provide a benchmark for the validation and comparison of time series reconstruction methods. Such methods are routinely used to estimate vegetation characteristics from optical remotely sensed data, where the presence of clouds decreases the usefulness of the data. The recently developed potential-assisted deposition is indeed more selective as well as 100-fold faster than passive adsorption, thereby enhancing the reproducibility of the monolayer deposition. Increasing the flexural capacity of RC beams using steel angles and pre-tensioned stainless steel ribbons

This article presents an experimental programme on reinforced concrete beams retrofitted with steel angles and pre-stressed stainless steel ribbons to increase their flexural strength and ductility. Two different configurations of the steel ribbon were designed, and two companion specimens for each type considered were subjected to a four-point bending test to facilitate a direct comparison in the analysis of the effectiveness of the retrofitting technique.
