Interconnecteurs métalliques de piles à combustible de type SOFC - Résistance à la corrosion et conductivité électrique à haute température

2009

The need of interconnect to connect individual cells into electrical series in a SOFC stack appears as one of the most important point in fuel cell technology. The main important criteria requires for interconnect is an excellent oxidation resistance in air and in H2/H2O. The goal of this study is to determine the influence on corrosion behaviour of a reactive element oxide coating (La2O3, Y2O3) realized by MOCVD on different metallic alloys like Crofer22APU, Haynes230 and Fe30Cr. The realisation of long ageing (7 700 and 15 400 hours) proved to be insightful. The corrosion kinetic experiments, the oxide scale characterisation and ASR measurements established that the presence of perovskite…

Additive manufacturing, new elaboration technique of metallic materials : impact of the microstructure on high temperature durability of AISI 316L st…

2021

Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes are able to elaborate, in a single step, metallic parts with very complex geometry, as close as possible to their final dimensions, based on 3D CAD model. Despite a very large number of studies on AM parameters, very few studies report on the high temperature behavior of the metallic materials produced by these processes. This thesis work evaluates the impact of the Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process on the high temperature durability of the austenitic stainless steel AISI 316L, commercial grade widely used in the industry. For this purpose, the reactivity of SLM samples was studied in different conditions (atmosphere, temperature, isothermal or cycl…

Study of the oxidation mechanisms of Plutonium

2022

Oxidation is a key point when applied to a material such as plutonium. It is essential to understand the oxidation mechanisms in order to predict and prevent catastrophic oxidation, thus managing the reprocessing cost. The originality of this work lies in the coupling of different experimental techniques : in-situ X-ray diffraction, Photo-electron spectroscopy (XPS), FIB-SEM, Raman spectrometry and X-ray absorption (EXAFS) with numerical techniques : CALPHAD and Reverse Monte Carlo, in order to determine the oxidation mechanisms of the studied alloy : -phase stabilised PuGa 1 at%.Study of oxidation of this alloy at different temperatures and oxygen partial pressures showed the oxidation kin…

ZnO(core)/TiO2(shell) composites : influence of TiO2 microstructure, N-doping and decoration with Au nanoparticles on photocatalytic and photoelectro…

2017

The aim of the thesis is to study the influence of microstructure of ZnO/TiO2 composites on their properties in photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants, and in photoassisted water oxidation. To realize such study we chose the design based on ZnO nanorods supported on ITO (Indium Tin Oxide)-coated glass electrode. The ZnO nanorods were then covered with a layer of TiO2 under different conditions. The composition and microstructure of the obtained ZnO(core)/TiO2(shell) composites were modified in the aim to elucidate how these parameters influence their photocatalytic activity. The results of studies lead to elaboration of two most distinctive variants of sol-gel procedure that allow…

Differential Responses of Nitrate Reducer Community Size, Structure, and Activity to Tillage Systems

2009

ABSTRACT The main objective of this study was to determine how the size, structure, and activity of the nitrate reducer community were affected by adoption of a conservative tillage system as an alternative to conventional tillage. The experimental field, established in Madagascar in 1991, consists of plots subjected to conventional tillage or direct-seeding mulch-based cropping systems (DM), both amended with three different fertilization regimes. Comparisons of size, structure, and activity of the nitrate reducer community in samples collected from the top layer in 2005 and 2006 revealed that all characteristics of this functional community were affected by the tillage system, with increa…

Peroxydation des lipides émulsionnés et transfert d'ions fer à l'interface huile / eau stabilisée par des protéines de lait : influence des résidus p…

2010

Iron incorporated into food systems induces oxidation and precipitation. The consequences are a reduced bioavailability and a modification of other food flavor. The iron chelates such as Fe-bisglycinate and Fe-EDTA represent a possibility to avoid side effects, since the iron is protected. The inertety of Fe bisglycinate and NaFe EDTA for lipid peroxidation has been verified in oil-in-water emulsion models stabilized by sodium caseinate or by β lactoglobulin through the following studies: i/ increase of primary and secondary products of oxidation, ii/ change of the properties of the oil/water interface (tension and interfacial rheology), iii/ the stability of the chelate iron (Fe-bisglycina…

Fermentation Products of Commensal Bacteria Alter Enterocyte Lipid Metabolism

2020

eferred to byJia Wen, John F. RawlsFeeling the Burn: Intestinal Epithelial Cells Modify Their Lipid Metabolism in Response to Bacterial Fermentation ProductsCell Host & Microbe, Volume 27, Issue 3, 11 March 2020, Pages 314-316; International audience; Despite the recognized capacity of the gut microbiota to regulate intestinal lipid metabolism, the role of specific commensal species remains undefined. Here, we aimed to understand the bacterial effectors and molecular mechanisms by which Lactobacillus paracasei and Escherichia coli regulate lipid metabolism in enterocytes. We show that L-lactate produced by L. paracasei inhibits chylomicron secretion from enterocytes and promotes lipid stora…

In vivo oxydation of [9-14C] cyclic fatty acids derived from linoleic acid in the rat

2006

International audience; Abstract - Heating oils and fats may lead to cyclization of polyunsaturated fatty acids, as for example linolenic acid. Cyclohexenyl and cyclopentenyl fatty acids are subsequently present in some edible oils and these are suspected to induce metabolic disorders. In a previous experiment using [1-14C] labeled molecules, we published that these cyclic fatty acids are beta oxidized to the same extent as linolenic acid, at least for the first cycle of beta oxidation. However, it is possible that the presence of a ring could alter the ability of the organism to fully oxidize the molecule. In order to test this hypothesis, we assessed the oxidative metabolism of cyclic fat…

Contribution to the molecular study of the oxidative stability of white wines of Burgundy

2019

In order to understand and control the aging of wines, particularly white wines, it is necessary to deepen our knowledge about the physico-chemical mechanisms of oxidation related to oxygenation processes. For this, it is important to have tools to quantify the antioxidant capacity of white wines, and to identify the compoiunds involved, in order to anticipate the aging ability of a wine.In this study, analyzes of the antioxidant capacity by DPPH and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) were carried out on a large number of wines during aging and from several vintages, in parallel with metabolomic analyzes, mainly carried out by Liquid Chromatography Coupled to Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TO…

Effect of oxidoreduction potential on aroma biosynthesis by lactic acid bacteria in nonfat yogurt

2011

; The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of oxidoreduction potential (Eh) on the biosynthesis of aroma compounds by lactic acid bacteria in non-fat yogurt. The study was done with yogurts fermented by Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus. The Eh was modified by the application of different gaseous conditions (air, nitrogen, and nitrogen/hydrogen). Acetaldehyde, dimethyl sulfide, diacetyl, and pentane-2,3-dione, as the major endogenous odorant compounds of yogurt, were chosen as tracers for the biosynthesis of aroma compounds by lactic acid bacteria. Oxidative conditions favored the production of acetaldehyde, dimethyl sulfide, and diketones (diacetyl and pen…
