Analysis of inter-atrium differences in paroxysmal and persistent atrial fibrillation using principal component analysis

The pathophysiological mechanisms of atrial fibrillation (AF) are not entirely clear yet, and there is no full explanation for the development and evolution of the arrhythmia. The goal of this study is to find inter-atrium differences in electrophysiological behavior between persistent and paroxysmal AF. The database analyzed contains intra-cardiac records from 14 patients with paroxysmal AF and 10 with persistent AF. Dominant frequency and sample entropy measurements showed that in the paroxysmal group there was a left-to-right gradient. Introduction: The amount and severity of hypoxia have been related to risk of cardiovascular events. Aim: To determine the relationship between nocturnal hypoxic burden and pro- angiogenic factors in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and myocardial infarction (MI). Abstract Objective: To compare compliance, symptom control, bleeding patterns, endometrial response, and lipid changes in postmenopausal women treated with transdermal E 2 and a regimen of either intermittent or continuous dosing of progestin. Design: Randomized, prospective study. Setting: Menopausal Outpatient Clinic at an academic tertiary care hospital. Summary The current SARS‐CoV‐2 pandemic particularly endangers older people with pre‐existing cardiopulmonary and metabolic conditions. However, it is also currently under discussion whether patients under immunosuppressive therapy also have a higher risk of suffering a severe course of the COVID‐19 disease.
