Abstract Two dinuclear complexes, µ-phenoxo, µ1,1-azido bridged [Ni2(L)2(µ1,1-N3)(N3)(CH3OH)] (1) and µ-phenoxo, µ1,1-azido bridged [Cu2(L)2(µ1,1-N3)(N3)] (2) bearing HL as a blocking co-ligand produced by the 1:1 condensation of N-methyl 1,3 propanediamine with o-vanillin have been synthesized and successfully characterized by elemental analyses, IR and electronic spectroscopy, single-crystal X-ray diffraction for 1 and DFT optimization for 2. The linkage of PO43- and HAsO42--anions with a newly synthesized five-coordinate dinuclear zinc complex, Zn-2(cpdp)(H2O)(2)]Cl (1) H(3)cpdp =N,N'-bis2-carboxybenzomethyl]-N,N'-bis2-pyridylmethyl]-1,3diamino propan-2-ol], has been explored. Self‐Assembly and Characterisation of Grid‐Type Iron( II ), Cobalt( II ) and Zinc( II ) Complexes

The reaction of the ligands 5 and 6, containing two tridentate binding units, with iron(II), cobalt(II) and zinc(II) leads to the self-assembly of supramolecular architectures of [2 × 2] grid type containing four ions in octahedral coordination sites. The grid-type structures have been assigned on the basis of the spectroscopic data in solution, and confirmed in the solid state in the case of complexes 6b and 6c by X-ray crystallography. The latter study revealed that each metal ion is situated in a distorted octahedral coordination environment comprising two N,N,O ligand donor sets. (© Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Oxygen Transfer from Trimethylamine N ‐Oxide to Cu I Complexes Supported by Pentanitrogen Ligands

[N,N-bis(1-methyl-2-benzimidazolyl)methyl-N-(bis-2-pyridylmethyl)amine] (L1) and [N,N-bis(2-quinolylmethyl)-N-bis(2-pyridyl)methylamine] (L2) were employed to prepare CuII and CuI complexes for spectroscopic and structural characterization. [L1CuII(H2O)](NO3)2 and [L2CuII(NO3)]NO3 have Jahn–Teller distorted octahedral geometries and give rise to isotropic EPR spectra in frozen solution. [L1CuI(CH3CN)]OTf and [L2CuI(CH3CN)]OTf have distorted trigonal bipyramidal and tetrahedral solid-state structures, respectively. Cadmium(ii) coordination polymers based on substituted malonic acid: synthesis, characterization and photoluminescence properties

Four novel complexes of cadmium(II) with alkyl/aryl-substituted malonate ligands of formulae {[Cd(Memal)(H2O)]6·0.5H2O}n (1), [Cd(Etmal)(H2O)]n (2), [Cd(Butmal)(H2O)]n (3) and [Cd(Bzmal)(H2O)]n (4), (Memal = methylmalonate, Etmal = ethylmalonate, Butmal = butylmalonate and Bzmal = benzylmalonate) have been prepared and characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis. Their luminescence, UV-Vis absorption properties and thermal behaviour were also investigated. Essential features of the polytypic charoite-96 structure compared to charoite-90

AbstractCharoite, ideally (K,Sr,Ba,Mn)15–16(Ca,Na)32[(Si70(O,OH)180)](OH,F)4·nH20, is a rock-forming mineral from the Murun massif in Yakutia, Sakha Republic, Siberia, Russia, where it occurs in a unique alkaline intrusion. Charoite occurs as four different polytypes, which are commonly intergrown in nanocrystallme fibres. Synthesis and characterization of sulfonamides containing 8-aminoquinoline and their Ni(II) complexes. Crystalline structures of the Ni complexes

Reaction between 8-aminoquinoline and benzenesulfonyl, toluene-4-sulfonyl and naphthalene-2-sulfonyl chlorides in a basic medium leads to the formation of the corresponding sulfonamides. Reaction of these sulfonamides with Ni(II) salts leads to the formation of the corresponding complexes, with a NiL 2 stoichiometry. Determination of the crystalline structure by X-ray diffraction shows an octahedral environment for the Ni(II) ions, sulfonamides acting as bidentate ligands and two solvent molecules completing the octahedral coordination. The spectroscopic and magnetic properties of these compounds are also discussed.

Abstract The use of two 8-aminoquinoline-based tridentate N3-donor rigid Schiff base ligands (L1 and L2) with Ni(II) in the presence of the pseudohalides, NaN3 and NaSCN results in the crystallization of the two novel Ni(II) dimers: [Ni2(L1)2(µ1,1′-N3)2(N3)2] (1) and [Ni2(L2)2(µ1,3-NCS)2(NCS)2] (2). Both complexes are centrosymmetric Ni(II) dimers where the Schiff base ligands coordinate the octahedral Ni(II) centres in a mer configuration with one terminal and two bridging pseudohalide ligands in the remaining positions. The synthesis, crystal structure, and magneto-chemical characterization of two new unprecedented μ-phenoxo-μ-carboxylato heterodinuclear complexes based on the Cr(salen) moiety (salen = N,N′-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine), [MII(O2C(CH3)3)(OH2)2(μ-O2C(CH3)3)(μ-salen)CrIII(O2C(CH3)3)], M = Ni (2), Co(3) are reported.
