In questo contributo si esamina uno straordinario caso di coesistenza culturale e religiosa che dura da 500 anni e che mai ha provocato episodi di razzismo o di intolleranza: si tratta del caso delle comunità Aebereshe in Sicilia. Anzi notevole è stato il loro contributo sul piano culturale e politico (sei pensi solo a Francesco Crispi). Questa lezione di civiltà è da ricordare quando nel nostro mondo del nuovo millennio rinascono impetuose le teorie e pratiche localistiche, ipernazionaliste e violente. GaN and SiC Device Characterization by a Dedicated Embedded Measurement System

This work proposes a comparison among GaN and SiC device main parameters measured with a dedicated and low-cost embedded system, employing an STM32 microcontroller designed to the purpose. The system has the advantage to avoid the use of expensive laboratory measurement equipment to test the devices, allowing to obtain their behavior in operating conditions. The following KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are measured and critically compared: threshold voltage, on-resistance and input capacitance. The IEEE 802.11 D CF protocol is known to be fair in terms of long-term resource repartition among the contending stations. However, when considering real scenarios, where commercial 802.11 cards interact, very unpredictable as well as sometimes surprising behaviors emerge. Motivation of this paper is to investigate the reasons of the very evident disagreement between the theoretical IEEE 802.11 DCF protocol models and its practical implementations. Development of the BCI Device Controlling C++ Software, Based on Existing Open Source Projects

The possibility of using the BCI open source code for building BCI controlled device, based on small AVR or ARM microcontrollers was considered. Some techniques to extract code snippets from other BCI projects were presented in the case of OpenViBE as the code donor. Problem with obtaining driver source codes for factory BCI devices has been pointed out.

The need for huge storage systems rises with the ever growing creation of data. With growing capacities and shrinking prices, "write once read sometimes" workloads become more common. New data is constantly added, rarely updated or deleted, and every stored byte might be read at any time - a common pattern for digital archives or big data scenarios. W trakcie licznych konfliktów zbrojnych rozegranych w osiemnastowiecznej Europie Prusy Wschodnie tylko raz były teatrem działań wojennych: latem 1757 r. – zimą 1758 r. Dwukrotnie jednak działania zbrojne toczyły się nad jej granicami, a w latach 1734-1735 przez prowincje pruską przechodziły transporty i oddziały walczących wojsk. Taka postawa nie przyniosła wówczas królowi pruskiemu żadnych korzyści, ale też uchroniła Prusy Wschodnie oraz jego mieszkańców przed ewentualnymi negatywnymi skutkami wojny na terytorium Rzeczpospolitej.
