Purpose: This study prospectively assessed the performance of liver stiffness measurements using point shear-wave elastography (p-SWE) in comparison with transient elastography (TE) in patients with biopsy-proven nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Methods: Fifty-six consecutive adult patients with a histological diagnosis of NAFLD prospectively underwent TE and p-SWE on the same day. Non-homogeneous Dirichlet problems with concave-convex reaction

The variational methods are adopted for establishing the existence of at least two nontrivial solutions for a Dirichlet problem driven by a non-homogeneous differential operator of p-Laplacian type. A large class of nonlinear terms is considered, covering the concave-convex case. In particular, two positive solutions to the problem are obtained under a (p -1)-superlinear growth at infinity, provided that a behaviour less than (p -1)-linear of the nonlinear term in a suitable set is requested.
Solutions with sign information for nonlinear Robin problems with no growth restriction on reaction

We consider a parametric nonlinear Robin problem driven by a nonhomogeneous differential operator. The reaction is a Carathéodory function which is only locally defined (that is, the hypotheses concern only its behaviour near zero). The conditions on the reaction are minimal. Using variational tools together with truncation, perturbation and comparison techniques and critical groups, we show that for all small values of the parameter λ > 0, the problem has at least three nontrivial smooth solutions, two of constant sign and the third nodal.

AbstractIn the framework of data envelopment analysis (DEA), Tone (Eur J Oper Res 130(3):498–509, 2001) introduced the slacks-based measure (SBM) of efficiency, which is a nonradial model that incorporates all the slacks of the evaluated decision-making units (DMUs) into their efficiency scores, unlike classical radial efficiency models. Simplified stock markets and their quantum-like dynamics

In this paper we continue our systematic analysis of the operatorial approach previously proposed in an economical context and we discuss a mixed toy model of a simplified stock market, i.e. a model in which the price of the shares is given as an input. We deduce the time evolution of the portfolio of the various traders of the market, as well as of other observable quantities. As in a previous paper, we solve the equations of motion by means of a fixed point like approximation.

This paper looks at how a group of small, incumbent private telephone companies complied with the international convergence of market structures. The existing research has mainly focused on large national incumbents, assuming a transition to multinational enterprise.
