Opaque Distribution Channels for Competing Service Providers: Posted Price vs. Name-Your-Own-Price Mechanisms

Opaque selling has been widely adopted by service providers in the travel industry to sell off leftover capacity under stochastic demand. We consider a two-stage model to study the impact of different selling mechanisms, posted price (PP) versus name-your-own-price (NYOP), of an opaque reseller on competing service providers who face forward-looking customers. We find that in this environment, providers prefer that the opaque reseller uses a posted price instead of a bidding model. Pēcoperācijas ātriju fibrilācija (POĀF) ir biežākā komplikācija pacientiem, kuriem veikta operācija uz atvērtas sirds. Kā rezultātā tā ietekmē morbiditāti, mortalitāti, kā arī palielina finansiālas izmaksas. Pētījuma mērķis ir uzzināt vai ir korelācija starp veiktiem pirms operācijas standarta izmeklējuma rezultātiem un pēcoperācijas ātriju fibrilāciju. Jo nosakot augsta riska pacientu var uzsākt preventīvu ārstēšanu. Normalized Solutions to the Fractional Schrödinger Equation with Potential

AbstractThis paper is concerned with the existence of normalized solutions to a class of Schrödinger equations driven by a fractional operator with a parametric potential term. We obtain minimization of energy functional associated with that equations assuming basic conditions for the potential. Our work offers a partial extension of previous results to the non-local case.

This paper explores humor and laughter as sites of search for common ground and power positioning in the context of Finnish-Chinese co-operation. It is mainly based on the data obtained by interviewing individuals who work either for local governments in Finland or one of the state agencies responsible for attracting foreign investment. The study uses Positioning theory by Harré (1991) and Politeness theory by Brown and Levinson (1987) when analyzing expressions regarding humor between the Finns and the Chinese.
