If Only They Knew: Audience Expectations and Actual Sourcing Practices in Online Journalism

This article answers the question “Are the sourcing practices in Finnish online journalism trustworthy?” Here, trustworthiness is operationalized as the fulfillment of audience expectations towards sourcing practices. To this end, expectations of young Finnish adults (aged 18–28) were compared to the observed practices of Finnish online journalists. A total of 36 news items (from 12 journalists working in three newsrooms, published in 2013 and 2017) were analyzed. As enterprises focus increasingly on core competencies, the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing between organisations is greatly enhanced. This article examines the development of knowledge sharing during the initial exploratory stages of an emerging business network. We demonstrate how the business model can serve as a tool for spanning organisational boundaries. Through developing a business model, network enterprises can learn to understand each other, create common concepts within their business network and evaluate feasibility of the endeavour. peerReviewed

Nykyaikana globalisaatio ja kansainvälistyminen ovat tuoneet omat haasteensa koulutusjärjestelmille. The larval zebrafish is a promising vertebrate model organism to study neural mechanisms underlying learning and memory due to its small brain and rich behavioral repertoire. Here, we report on a high-throughput operant conditioning system for zebrafish larvae, which can simultaneously train 12 fish to associate a visual conditioned pattern with electroshocks. We find that the learning responses can be enhanced by the visual contrast, not the spatial features of the conditioned patterns, highlighted by several behavioral metrics. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā, datorsalikumā uz 39 lapām. Tas satur 13 attēlus, 8 tabulas, 4 pielikumus un 28 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis ir kvantitatīvi novērtēt vispārējās anestēzijas ietekmi uz acs akomodācijas funkcijām. Acs akomodācijas funkcijas tika novērtētas vispārējās un spinālās anestēzijas pacientiem pirms un pēc operācijas.
