Strictly convergent algorithm for an elliptic equation with nonlocal and nonlinear boundary conditions

The paper describes a formally strictly convergent algorithm for solving a class of elliptic problems with nonlinear and nonlocal boundary conditions, which arise in modeling of the steady-state conductive-radiative heat transfer processes. The proposed algorithm has two levels of iterations, where inner iterations by means of the damped Newton method solve an appropriate elliptic problem with nonlinear, but local boundary conditions, and outer iterations deal with nonlocal terms in boundary conditions.

Dosimetría en ginecología y verificación de tratamientos en braquiterapia electrónica, trata de valorar y discutir los valores de dosis absorbida en diferentes aplicaciones clínicas de la braquiterapia electrónica. La fuente utilizada en estos sitemas consiste en un tubo de vacío de 10 mm de longitud y de 2 mm de diámetro encerrado en un catéter de refrigeración de 5,6 mm de diámetro, suele funcionar a 50kVp. International audience; In this paper, we present a protocol to collect data within a vehicular ad hoc network (VANET). In spite of the intrinsic dynamic of such network, our protocol simultaneously offers three relevant properties: (1) It allows any vehicle to collect data beyond its direct neighborhood (i.e., vehicles within direct communication range) using vehicle-to-vehicle communications only (i.e., the infrastructure is not required); (2) It tolerates possible network partitions; (3) It works on demand and stops when the data collection is achieved.
