Fluorescent organometallic complexes : when the photovoltaic leads to theranostics

2013

The goal of my PhD thesis was to synthesize new molecules, which give access to fluorescentorganometallic complexes with interesting properties for photovoltaic and theranostic. In thisproject, several main points have been studied. The first part of this manuscript concerns the synthesis of new metallocene and metalloporphyrinsbasedorganometallic complexes to the design of solar cells. After a short introduction, wepresented the synthesis of titanium complexes and metalloporphyrins in the first chapter. Inparticular, we described the synthesis of model compounds and the difficulties encountered duringthe transition to porphyrin derivatives. However, in view of results obtained and opportuni…

Flash microwave synthesis and sintering of nanosized La0.75Sr0.25Cr0.93Ru0.07o3–δ for fuel cell application.

2009

International audience; Perovskite-oxide nanocrystals of La0.75Sr0.25Cr0.93Ru0.07O3–δ with a mean size around 10 nm were prepared by microwave flash synthesis. This reaction was performed in alcoholic solution using metallic salts, sodium ethoxide and microwave autoclave. The obtained powder was characterised after purification by energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), BET adsorption technique, photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that integrated perovskite-type phase and uniform particle size were obtained in the microwave treated samples. At last the synthesised powder was directly used in a sin…

Terpyridine-based metallopolymer thin films as active layer in ammonia sensor device

2016

International audience; A metal-containing polymer has been prepared by electropolymerization of an homoleptic Ru(II)-terpyridine complex bearing pyrrole heterocycles. The polymer is obtained as a thinfilm at the surface ofelectrodes, and has been characterized by electrochemical measurements, XPS and microscopy. It hasbeen shown that this polymer acts as an active gas sensitive layer since it enables the detection of anammonia gasflow through layer’s resistivity measurements.

Generic heuristics on GPU to superpixel segmentation and application to optical flow estimation

2020

Finding clusters in point clouds and matching graphs to graphs are recurrent tasks in computer science domain, data analysis, image processing, that are most often modeled as NP-hard optimization problems. With the development and accessibility of cheap multiprocessors, acceleration of the heuristic procedures for these tasks becomes possible and necessary. We propose parallel implantation on GPU (graphics processing unit) system for some generic algorithms applied here to image superpixel segmentation and image optical flow problem. The aim is to provide generic algorithms based on standard decentralized data structures to be easy to improve and customized on many optimization problems and…

The rapid atmospheric monitoring system of the Pierre Auger Observatory

2012

The Pierre Auger Observatory is a facility built to detect air showers produced by cosmic rays above 1017 eV. During clear nights with a low illuminated moon fraction, the UV fluorescence light produced by air showers is recorded by optical telescopes at the Observatory. To correct the observations for variations in atmospheric conditions, atmospheric monitoring is performed at regular intervals ranging from several minutes (for cloud identification) to several hours (for aerosol conditions) to several days (for vertical profiles of temperature, pressure, and humidity). In 2009, the monitoring program was upgraded to allow for additional targeted measurements of atmospheric conditions shor…

The Large Area Detector of LOFT: the Large Observatory for X-ray Timing

2014

LOFT (Large Observatory for X-ray Timing) is one of the five candidates that were considered by ESA as an M3 mission (with launch in 2022-2024) and has been studied during an extensive assessment phase. It is specifically designed to perform fast X-ray timing and probe the status of the matter near black holes and neutron stars. Its pointed instrument is the Large Area Detector (LAD), a 10 m 2 -class instrument operating in the 2-30keV range, which holds the capability to revolutionise studies of variability from X-ray sources on the millisecond time scales. The LAD instrument has now completed the assessment phase but was not down-selected for launch. However, during the assessment, most o…

LOFT: the Large Observatory For X-ray Timing

2012

The LOFT mission concept is one of four candidates selected by ESA for the M3 launch opportunity as Medium Size missions of the Cosmic Vision programme. The launch window is currently planned for between 2022 and 2024. LOFT is designed to exploit the diagnostics of rapid X-ray flux and spectral variability that directly probe the motion of matter down to distances very close to black holes and neutron stars, as well as the physical state of ultra-dense matter. These primary science goals will be addressed by a payload composed of a Large Area Detector (LAD) and a Wide Field Monitor (WFM). The LAD is a collimated (<1 degree field of view) experiment operating in the energy range 2-50 keV,…

Plasma diagnostic tools for ECR ion sources : What can we learn from these experiments for the next generation sources

2019

International audience; The order-of-magnitude performance leaps of ECR ion sources over the past decades result from improvements to the magnetic plasma confinement, increases in the microwave heating frequency, and techniques to stabilize the plasma at high densities. Parallel to the technical development of the ion sources themselves, significant effort has been directed into the development of their plasma diagnostic tools. We review the recent results of Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Source (ECRIS) plasma diagnostics highlighting a number of selected examples of plasma density, electron energy distribution, and ion confinement time measurements, obtained mostly with the second-gener…

On the radiative impact of aerosols on photolysis rates: comparison of simulations and observations in the Lampedusa island during the ChArMEx/ADRIME…

2016

The Mediterranean basin is characterized by large concentrations of aerosols from both natural and anthropogenic sources. These aerosols affect tropospheric photochemistry by modulating the photolytic rates. Three simulations of the atmospheric composition at basin scale have been performed with the CHIMERE chemistry-transport model for the period from 6 June to 15 July 2013 covered by the ADRIMED campaign, a campaign of intense measurements in the western Mediterranean basin. One simulation takes into account the radiative effect of the aerosols on photochemistry, the second one does not, and the third one is designed to quantify the model sensitivity to a bias in the ozone column. These s…
