In this paper, fluid dynamics simulations have been executed using a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) commercial code, on a Maserati Biturbo mod. 222 - 1988. At first some surfaces are optimised, choosing the more important ones for the reduction of the resistance, by a manual variation of their geometry, hence a large surface is optimised in an automatic way, by means of an own software, developed in the MatLab environment, returning the optimised surface according to a specific objective function (the resistance in this paper). Reactive power is a very important quantity in electric power systems since it affects the efficiency of these systems. Also, capacitive loads can produce over-voltages in electric transformers by Ferranti effect, which produces bad power quality, so it is necessary to measure the reactive power correctly. A Technique for Power Supply Harmonic Impedance Estimation Using a Controlled Voltage Disturbance

A method for power system impedance estimation is presented. The method employs a power converter to inject a voltage transient onto the supply system. As the technique employs controlled power electronic devices it may be used as a stand alone piece of a portable measurement equipment, or it may be embedded into the functions of an active shunt filter for improved harmonic control. The impedance is estimated through correlation of the measured voltage and current transients. Simulations and experimental results demonstrate the measurement technique is highly accurate and effective.

The high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spray has become a process of choice for producing high performance cermet or alloy coatings. Common HVOF thermal spray systems classically use the combustion of gases, such as hydrogen, propane or a liquid fuel such as kerosene. However, there is currently a limited amount of literature on the use of ethanol as a fuel within HVOF processes and the performances of the resulting coatings are not well documented. This paper deals with the design of logistic terminals taking Sicily, in the South of Italy, as a case study. It focuses on consolidation terminals for truckers and addresses the problem of optimising location pattern and public share in investments. This problem is solved through a Stackelberg game between the designer and the collective of road carriers. So a bilevel approach combines a system-optimum problem, at the upper level, with the carrier equilibrium problem, at the lower level.
