Il saggio esamina le peculiarità del barocco dissonante di Gesualdo Bufalino. In Bufalino l’artificio dello stile sottende una tensione ideologica. L’intensità espressiva e l’eccesso verbale cercano di compensare un vuoto e costituiscono, nel sentire dello scrittore, un formidabile mezzo «per contrastare l’ossificazione del mondo». Bufalino rivendica quindi il valore strutturale della propria scelta barocca, dichiarando che la sua scrittura è sorretta da un «barocco borrominiano» in cui «l’ornato è funzione», in mancanza del quale «l’architettura cadrebbe».

The essay aims to analyze the connection between memory and oblivion that Bufalino investigates in his inventive work. Memory and its reverse, forgetfulness, are important themes of a writing that questions itself on the very reasons for its making. Bufalino’s narrative is populated with characters without a past, constructed by subtraction, through a chiaroscuro made up of full and above all voids, omissions, erasures. PhD graduates can help companies transfer knowledge from universities to firms. Scholars have analysed the determinants of PhD recruitment by firms and its effects on their innovation activities. However, little is known about what happens when a firm loses employees with PhDs. The aim of this paper is to compare the effects on the relationships of firms with universities when these firms lose PhDs versus when they hire PhDs to work in R&D. These effects may be symmetrical or non-symmetrical depending on the abilities of firms to retain the connections and knowledge acquired by hiring PhDs. Abelian realization of phenomenological two-zero neutrino textures

In an attempt at explaining the observed neutrino mass-squared differences and leptonic mixing, lepton mass matrices with zero textures have been widely studied. In the weak basis where the charged lepton mass matrix is diagonal, various neutrino mass matrices with two zeros have been shown to be consistent with the current experimental data. Using the canonical and Smith normal form methods, we construct the minimal Abelian symmetry realizations of these phenomenological two-zero neutrino textures. The implementation of these symmetries in the context of the seesaw mechanism for Majorana neutrino masses is also discussed.
Searching for New Physics in two-neutrino double beta decay with CUPID

Abstract In the past few years, attention has been drawn to the fact that a precision analysis of two-neutrino double beta decay (2υββ) allows the study of interesting physics cases like the emission of Majoron bosons and possible Lorentz symmetry violation. These processes modify the summed-energy distribution of the two electrons emitted in 2υββ. CUPID is a next-generation experiment aiming to exploit 100Mo-enriched scintillating Li2MoO4 crystals, operating as cryogenic calorimeters. Given the relatively fast half-life of 100Mo 2υββ and the large exposure that can be reached by CUPID, we expect to measure with very high precision the 100Mo 2υββ spectrum shape, reaching great sensitivities…
