Coupled coincidence points for compatible mappings satisfying mixed monotone property
2012
We establish coupled coincidence and coupled fixed point results for a pair of mappings satisfying a compatibility hypothesis in partially ordered metric spaces. An example is given to illustrate our obtained results.
Coupled common fixed point theorems in partially ordered G-metric spaces for nonlinear contractions
2014
The aim of this paper is to prove coupled coincidence and coupled common fixed point theorems for a mixed $g$-monotone mapping satisfying nonlinear contractive conditions in the setting of partially ordered $G$-metric spaces. Present theorems are true generalizations of the recent results of Choudhury and Maity [Math. Comput. Modelling 54 (2011), 73-79], and Luong and Thuan [Math. Comput. Modelling 55 (2012) 1601-1609].
Coupled fixed point theorems for multi-valued nonlinear contraction mappings in partially ordered metric spaces
2011
Abstract In this paper, we establish two coupled fixed point theorems for multi-valued nonlinear contraction mappings in partially ordered metric spaces. The theorems presented extend some results due to Ciric (2009) [3] . An example is given to illustrate the usability of our results.
Monotonicity and total boundednessin spaces of measurable functions
2017
Abstract We define and study the moduli d(x, đ, D) and i(x, đ,D) related to monotonicity of a given function x of the space L 0(Ω) of real-valued âmeasurableâ functions defined on a linearly ordered set Ω. We extend the definitions to subsets X of L 0(Ω), and we use the obtained quantities, d(X) and i(X), to estimate the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness Îł(X) of X. Compactness criteria, in special cases, are obtained.
Words and Patterns
2002
In this paper some new ideas, problems and results on patterns are proposed. In particular, motivated by questions concerning avoidability, we first study the set of binary patterns that can occur in one infinite binary word, comparing it with the set of factors of the word. This suggests a classification of infinite words in terms of the "difference" between the set of its patterns and the set of its factors. The fact that each factor in an infinite word can give rise to several distinct patterns leads to study the set of patterns of a single finite word. This set, endowed with a natural order relation, defines a poset: we investigate the relationships between the structure of such a posetâŠ
Fixed point results for weak contractive mappings in ordered K-metric spaces
2012
In this paper, we derive new coincidence and common ïŹxed point theorems for self-maps satisfying a weak contractive condition in an ordered K-metric space. As application, the obtained results are used to prove an existence theorem of solutions of a nonlinear integral equation.
Reassessing Accuracy Rates of Median Decisions
2007
We show how Bruno de Finetti''s fundamental theorem of prevision has computable applications in statistical problems that involve only partial information. Specifically, we assess accuracy rates for median decision procedures used in the radiological diagnosis of asbestosis. Conditional exchangeability of individual radiologists'' diagnoses is recognized as more appropriate than independence which is commonly presumed. The FTP yields coherent bounds on probabilities of interest when available information is insufficient to determine a complete distribution. Further assertions that are natural to the problem motivate a partial ordering of conditional probabilities, extending the computation âŠ
ĂQUATIONS DIFFĂRENTIELLES Ă COEFFICIENTS DANS DES CORPS DE SĂRIES GĂNĂRALISĂES.
2007
We express the connection between the support of some equations and those of generalized series solutions. On the one hand we prove that any real power series solution of a sub-analytic differential equation belong to a lattice (i.e. an additive sub semi-group of positive reals). On the other hand we consider the field Mr of series with well-ordered support included in the Hahn product Hr with finite rank r (i.e. the lexicographic product of r copies of the reals). We equip Mr with a "Hardy type" derivation and define some well-ordered sets T1, ..., Tr such that : for all equation F(y,...,y(n))=0 with F in Mr[[Y0,...,Yn]] and whose support Supp F is a well-ordered subset of Hr, and for all âŠ
Are all denumerable sets of numbers order-isomorphic?
2018
International audience; In this paper we study cognitive conflicts on the issue of number sets being dense, ordered and denumerable. We first provide historical-epistemological background related to these notions. Then we consider the cognitive conflicts under the lenses of concept image and concept definition, which we use to analyse empirical data collected in order to understand better the didactical and cognitive issues at stake.
Monotone generalized nonlinear contractions and fixed point theorems in ordered metric spaces
2011
The purpose of this paper is to present some fixed point theorems for T -weakly isotone increasing mappings which satisfy a generalized nonlinear contractive condition in complete ordered metric spaces. As application, we establish an existence theorem for a solution of some integral equations.
