Structural and electronic elucidation of a N-heterocyclic silylene vanadocene adduct

The solid and solution state structure of the vanadium(II) N‐ heterocyclic silylene (NHSi) complex, [(SiIPr)V(Cp)2] (1) is reported ( SiIPr: 1,3‐bis(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)‐1,3‐diaza‐2‐silacyclopent‐4‐ en‐2‐ylidene). The electronic structure of 1 is probed using combination of magnetic measurements, EPR spectroscopy and computational studies. The V–Si bond strength and complex forming mechanism between vanadocene and NHSi ligand is elucidated using computational methods. peerReviewed
Pionowa koordynacja transakcji między grupami producentów rolnych a ich pierwszymi odbiorcami. Przykład rynku ziemniaków

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja form pionowej koordynacji transakcji między grupami producentów rolnych działających na rynku ziemniaka a ich pierwszymi odbiorcami. Przedmiotem badań były kontrakty podpisane przez grupy w 2014 roku. Dla realizacji wyznaczonego celu zastosowano metodę studium przypadku. Wykorzystanym narzędziem był wspomagany komputerowo wywiad telefoniczny, którego podstawę stanowił kwestionariusz ankiety. Badanie przeprowadzono w okresie od marca do maja 2015 roku. W badaniu wzięło udział 8 grup producentów (około 35% zbiorowości całkowitej). W 2014 roku całość sprzedaży była realizowana w ramach kontraktów, a głównym odbiorcą były zakłady przetwórcze.
Non-conventional synthesis and photophysical studies of platinum(ii) complexes with methylene bridged 2,2′-dipyridylamine derivatives

Methylene bridged 2,2′-dipyridylamine (dpa) derivatives and their metal complexes possess outstanding properties due to their inherent structural flexibility. Synthesis of such complexes typically involves derivatization of dpa followed by coordination on metals, and may not always be very efficient. In this work, an alternative synthetic approach, involving the derivatization step after – rather than prior to – coordination of dpa on metal center, is proposed and applied to synthesis of a number of platinum(II) complexes with substituted benzyldi(2-pyridyl)amines. Noncovalent axial I∙∙∙Pt∙∙∙I interactions in platinum(II) complexes strengthen in the excited state

Abstract Coordination compounds of platinum(II) participate in various noncovalent axial interactions involving metal center. Weakly bound axial ligands can be electrophilic or nucleophilic; however, interactions with nucleophiles are compromised by electron density clashing. Consequently, simultaneous axial interaction of platinum(II) with two nucleophilic ligands is almost unprecedented. Herein, we report structural and computational study of a platinum(II) complex possessing such intramolecular noncovalent I⋅⋅⋅Pt⋅⋅⋅I interactions. Artykuł stanowi kontynuację przeglądu literatury dotyczącej koordynacyjnej polimeryzacji silseskwioksanów (POSS), zawierających zdolne do polimeryzacji wiązanie podwójne, oraz ich kopolimeryzacji głównie zolefinami, a także ze styrenem. Zastosowanie katalizatorów metalocenowych aktywowanych metyloaluminoksanem (MAO) zapewnia efektywną (ko)polimeryzację silseskwioksanów zarówno z olefinami, jak i styrenem. Wprowadzenie do materiału polimerowego komonomeru POSS korzystnie wpływa na właściwości otrzymanych produktów, które cechują się większą odpornością termiczną oraz wytrzymałością mechaniczną niż ich odpowiedniki niezawierające POSS.
Metallocenes and post-metallocenes immobilized on ionic liquid-modified silica as catalysts for polymerization of ethylene

Abstract The supported ionic liquid (SIL) strategy was used for the first time to metallocene and post-metallocene heterogeneous catalysts for olefin polymerization. The metal complexes: Cp2TiCl2, Cp2ZrCl2, FI–Ti, and Sal–Ti were immobilized in the 1-(3-triethoxysilyl)propyl-3-methylimidazolium alkylchloroaluminate ionic liquid, anchored on the surface of the mesoporous amorphous silica. The SIL systems were characterized by FTIR, 29Si NMR, N2 adsorption, EA, AAS, TG, and SEM techniques. The developed supported catalytic systems were found to be active in the ethylene polymerization and produce the polyethylene of various properties.
A supported titanium postmetallocene catalyst: Effect of selected conditions on ethylene polymerization

Ethylene polymerization with a titanium complex [N,N-ethylenebis(3-methoxysalicylideneiminato)titanium dichloride] immobilized on the magnesium support with the formula MgCl2(THF)0.32(Et2AlCl)0.36 was studied. In particular, the effects of polymerization temperature, monomer pressure, and polymerization time on the activity of the catalyst and on the polyethylene properties (molecular weight and its distribution, melting point, crystallinity, and bulk density) were evaluated. International audience; A mononuclear iron(III) porphyrin compound exhibiting unexpectedly slow magnetic relaxation, which is a characteristic of single-ion magnet behaviour, is reported. This behaviour originates from the close proximity (approximate to 550 cm(-1)) of the intermediate-spinS=3/2 excited states to the high-spinS=5/2 ground state. More quantitatively, although the ground state is mostlyS=5/2, a spin-admixture model evidences a sizable contribution (approximate to 15 %) ofS=3/2 to the ground state, which as a consequence experiences large and positive axial anisotropy (D=+19.2 cm(-1)). Agile methodologies are sometimes adopted, with the assumption that benefits can be attained by only using a set of best practices, which can sometimes work to a degree. In this paper, a case is discussed where a software-producing organization of seven teams achieved significant improvements. The goal of the research was to answer two questions: how an already agile organization could improve its performance further and what is the impact of promoting quality aspects?
