Improvement in both in-vitro fertilization/embryo transfer (IVF/ET) and gamete intra-Fallopian transfer (GIFT) procedures have led to a progressive extension of their use far beyond the indications represented by tubal problems. One of the most important examples of this is in the field of male infertility. Some researchers claim that IVF/ET is more efficient on the basis of the 'fertilization evidence', while others prefer the GIFT technique, stressing that as its results are clearly so much better that it should be used in all cases.

Human milk is the sole and recommended nutrition for the newborn infant and contains one of the largest constituents of diverse oligosaccharides, dubbed human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). Preclinical and clinical association studies indicate that HMOs have multiple physiological functions largely mediated through the establishment of the gut microbiome. Little is known about online victimization of Spanish adolescents. The present study aims to determine the past-year prevalence of online victimization in a community sample of Spanish adolescents. The final sample consisted of 3,897 adolescents between 12 and 17 years old (M=14.45, SD=1.59), 1,836 males and 2,049 females, recruited from 39 secondary schools in the east of Spain. Objectives To evaluate clinical and financial impact of pharmacist interventions in an ambulatory adult hematology–oncology department. Methods All cancer patients receiving a first injectable immuno- and/or chemotherapy regimen were included in this prospective study over a one-year period. The clinical impact of pharmacist interventions made by two clinical pharmacists was rated using the Clinical Economic and Organizational tool. International audience; : We report the case of a 21-year-old man, with a Candida-related endocarditis causing multiple emboli and bilateral false aneurysms of the internal iliac arteries. As the distal runoff vasculatures of both internal iliac arteries were occluded, these arteries required ligation. Although there were few consequences with the procedure, multiple emboli and recurrence of endocarditis after cardiac surgery led to the patient's death.

Background: Early detecting AMI in individuals presenting to the ED with chest pain continues to be a challenge. cTn is the gold standard for AMI diagnosis but early presenters (<1 hours from symptom onset) maybe cTn negative on admission. We analysed the diagnostic value of h-FABP and hs-TnI in patients presenting to ED with chest pain and no cTnI elevations. Methods: 28 AMI and 28 no-AMI individuals both presented to ED within one hour from pain onset were included. Blood donors were analysed for h-FABP cut-off identification. Abstract Objective To investigate frequency and associated factors of post polio syndrome (PPS) in an Italian cohort of people with prior poliomyelitis. Methods We screened subjects admitted for poliomyelitis at the paediatric hospital of the University of Palermo during the time frame 1945–1960.
