W trakcie XIX-wiecznych kasat klasztorów na obszarze cesarstwa rosyjskiego względy ekonomiczne stanowił istotny, może najważniejszy, ale niejedyny czynnik, uwzględniany przy podejmowaniu decyzji o zniesieniu domu zakonnego. Oficjalnie władze rosyjskie głosiły, że cały majątek klasztorny miał być wykorzystany na utrzymanie szkół oraz instytucji opiekuńczych i charytatywnych. W rzeczywistości przejęte ziemskie dobra klasztorne zasiliły skarb publiczny, a mienie z różnych powodów niezbywalne powiększyło majątek, pozostający w dyspozycji władz gubernialnych oraz Cerkwi prawosławnej. Effects of temperature and desiccation on ex situ conservation of nongreen fern spores

Premise of the study Fern spores are unicellular and haploid, making them a potential model system to study factors that regulate lifespan and mechanisms of aging. Aging rates of nongreen spores were measured to compare longevity characteristics among diverse fern species and test for orthodox response to storage temperature and moisture. Methods Aging of spores from 10 fern species was quantified by changes in germination and growth parameters. Storage temperature ranged from ambient room to -196°C (liquid nitrogen); spores were dried to ambient relative humidity (RH) or using silica gel. With the expansion of Islam, the patriarchates of Antioch, Jerusalem, and Alexandria were divided from the Byzantine Empire. The Orthodox Christians there still defined themselves as Byzantine Orthodox and began to adapt their liturgical customs by adopting Byzantine liturgical books. When Greek was not understood any longer, they began to translate and copy their liturgical books, thereby creating their own branch of tradition, which is marked by multilingualism, reception of their own Bible tradition as well as the exclusion of “neo-martyrs” from their calendar of saints.

Orthodox–Evangelical relationships are dominated by proselytism (at least in Eastern Europe and in the former Soviet Union). This is understood as church conversion practiced through unfair means among people who are already Christians, belonging to so-called “historical churches.” However, beyond it, there is a real potential for cooperation using moral values as a starting point. As there is an increasing disagreement between the Orthodox and mainline Protestant on moral values, the Orthodox and Evangelicals might increase their cooperation as they witness traditional values of Christianity. International audience; Travailler sur la réception de Marx dans la SFIO de 1905 à 1914 impose d’emblée larencontre avec la question de l’orthodoxie marxiste. Elle nourrit un procès paradoxal,entre recherche historique et politique de 1965 à 1981, années pendant lesquelles lesinterprétations les plus divergentes partagent l’évidence d’une orthodoxie marxistepermettant la discussion de la synthèse jaurésienne.
