Management groups are an essential part of the management system in Finnish hospitals. Nevertheless, only a few empirical studies have, to date, focused on public sector management teams. This study aims to understand social interaction in management team meetings by describing 1) how management team members participate during meetings and 2) what types of participant roles are constructed during meetings. Artikkelissa analysoidaan osallisuuden rakenteellisia taloudellisia ehtoja ja esteitä työelämässä. Kiinnostuksemme kohdistuu erityisesti siihen, miten palveluiden kilpailutus ja ulkoistaminen kiristävät työolosuhteita ja rajoittavat osallisuuden mahdollisuuksia. Social television has transformed the traditional role of the television viewers by providing ‘ordinary people’ access to the public stage. This article describes how public access to television affected the dialogues of Finnish tweeters on Twitter during the massive media event of the FIFA World Cup. Through the lens of digital conversation analysis, the study shows how the media publicity of tweets changed the direction of the interaction between tweeters and transformed their roles vis-à-vis the television show, making one of them into a ‘media flasher’ and the others viewers of his or her performance. This study investigates social exclusion from peer interaction and relationships among children in one Finnish daycare center. Social exclusion is a multifaceted phenomenon that can be encountered as a result of for instance peer exclusion or social withdrawal. Persistent social exclusion can have severe negative consequences. However, social exclusion is also an inevitable part of social life. This study discusses the multiplicity of this phenomenon in one daycare center. This study is a micro-ethnography. I wrote notes and video-recorded the everyday life of two child groups for 12 days. Aikaisemmat tutkimukset viittaavat siihen, että koulun yhteisöllisellä ilmapiirillä on yhteys oppilaiden yhteiskunnallisen vaikuttamisen orientaatioon. Eräiltä osin tuo yhteys on kuitenkin kyseenalaistettu. tässä artikkelissa puretaan kysymys osiin ja tutkitaan, millainen yhteys oppilaiden ja opettajien kokemuksilla koulun ilmapiirin yhteisöllisyyden osatekijöistä on oppilaiden yhteiskunnallisen vaikuttamisen orientaatioon.
