In contrast to the Eastern Palaearctic region a high degree of cryptic diversity was discovered among temperate bats of the Western Palaearctic region in the last ten years. Climatic oscillations caused severe changes in the distribution of species throughout the Palaearctic region during the Pleistocene. Exploring multiple taxa can help to understand general evolutionary differentiation processes. Maģistra darbā tika apkopota zinātniskā literatūra par čagu, tās lipīdu sastāvu, farmakoloģisko iedarbību, lipīdu analīzes metodēm un ķīmijmetrikas metodi. Tika izolēti čagas lipofilie savienojumi ar dažādām ekstrakcijas metodēm, izmantojot dažādus nepolārus šķīdinātājus, lai iegūtu maksimālu ekstrakcijas iznākumu. Iegūtie lipofilie ekstrakti tika atvasināti ar BSTFA un analizēti, izmantojot gāzu hromatogrāfiju-masspektrometriju. Evidence for a novel cytoplasmic processing event in ribosome maturation in the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus

In this work, we demonstrate the existence of a cytoplasmic processing step, never before described, involving both the pre-ribosomal subunits in the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus. Northern-blot hybridization, primer extension, S1 mapping experiments and in situ hybridizations allowed us to demonstrate that cytoplasmic processed particles are successively re-imported into the nucleus, where maturation of their RNAs is completed prior to being exported to the cytoplasm. Our findings lead to the proposal of a new model of ribosome maturation and shuttling. Pētījumā izmantota atklātā lauka metode un tās modifikācijas plēsonības riska ietekmes pētīšanai. Aprakstīta dzīvnieku individuālā uzvedība olfaktorā un vizuālā plēsonības riska ietekmē un jauna objekta un izsalkuma ietekmē. Atklātā lauka metode veiksmīgi aprobēta individuālās uzvedības un plēsonības riska ietekmes pētījumu veikšanai. Pētījumā izmantoto sugu uzvedība apskatīta skalā „pārgalvīgs – piesardzīgs” un indivīdi iedalīti trīs uzvedības grupās. AbstractIncreased attention has been focused on marine invertebrates as a source of bioactive molecules for biomedical applications. Many bioactive molecules are part of the innate immune system. Some more recently isolated compounds, mainly from the sea urchin and the sea cucumber, are antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and fungi. Tämän tutkielman tarkoituksena on luoda perusta topologiselle asteelle, ja todistaa siihen liittyviä tuloksia. Topologinen aste määritellään aluksi jatkuvasti derivoituville funktioille jossakin kyseisen funktion kuvapisteessä. Nämä ovat useasti moniulotteisia funktioita, joiden määrittelyjoukko ja kuvapisteiden joukko ovat samassa ulottuvuudessa. Topologinen aste tarkastelee funktion kuvapisteen alkukuvien ympäristön kuvautumista derivaattamatriisin determinantin avulla. Mikäli Jacobin determinantti saa positiivisen arvon, lisätään topologiseen asteeseen kokonaisluku yksi.
